Spockholm Workaround to the Ruby Level Secret District Bug

Share:

There is a bug in the Secret District that is starting to get some attention. I first posted about it on December 15th when it appeared in the Lexington Hotel Secret District (1). When you do a any job a window opens and tracks what you've gained and what you've spent.

After Job Click
Once you FULLY master the Ruby Level of the Secret District and return to do jobs, nothing happens on the front end when you click on the "Do Job" button. On the back end you are still gaining experience, currency and loot. You just can't see it.

On December 19th, I made a reminder post about this bug because many started to ask about it (1). I was surprised to see the bug was still there with the new Secret District and outlined it for a third time in my walk through (1). Now that many players have mastered this district on the Ruby Level, we are getting many questions about this bug. The simple fact is most players assume they can no longer do jobs when in fact they can. The reason this bug is more serious than last time is because the experience/energy ratios are better and there is incentive to keep doing jobs. I don't know what's taking Zynga so long to fix this.

Rather than wait for Zynga, Team Spockholm has a beta script which will do the jobs and keep track for you. The script is called RepeatJobClicker and is currently in the beta test phase. If you have access to the Golden Toolbar, you can use it now. From the configuration settings, click on "Force reload Spocklets" to load it.
Once you do this, just type the first few letters into the search bar and click on it to activate.
If you want RepeatJob Clicker to be in your Spockleta Menu, scroll the Spocklets until you locate RepeatJob Clicker and click on the link to turn it green.
It will now appear in your Spocklets Menu and you can use the "Sort List Now" link to move it anywhere you want.
Now when you load it, tell it where to go.
Once the jobs load, pick the one you want to do and click start.

RepeatJob Clicker is in beta and according to Martin there are "plenty of half-finished features in it and messy output". It still clicks so may help those who didn't stay on the Gold Level to avoid this bug. Clicking on the job manually while the script is running will cause it to go into overdrive so don't do it. Because this is intended for a small testing group, please don't share the script with others if you have the Golden Toolbar.
