On the first day of the Bloody Christmas Marketplace Promotion, Zynga offered a 60% Reward Point bonus redemption on Game Cards. 5 days prior to the Game Card bonus redemption, the
Official Mafia Wars Blog stated the following:
Santa Claus is coming to town and, when he does, he'll have Zynga Gift Card & eCard redemption bonuses with him. If you're thinking strategically, that makes now a bloody good time to stock up on Zynga Gift Cards and eCards!
Once the redemption bonus was available, I outlined how to get the best possible deal and players who weren't aware purchased Game Cards because of my post

Without warning or announcement, the 60% redemption bonus was changed to 30% about 2 hours after my post was published

I felt really bad about making the post because many players purchased Game Cards expecting to get the deal I described. According to my visitor statistics, there were 36,307 different readers the day the post was published. Players who read my blog and purchased Game Cards because of the great deal they thought they would get may have used money they wouldn't have spent otherwise. It is the holiday season and not everybody has a lot of expendable revenue laying around.
If you were one of the players who purchased a Game Card or eCard during the time that the redemption bonus was 60%, there may be a way to get your money back or the Reward Points you rightfully deserve credited to your account. False advertising is considered fraud and Zynga is aware that what happened was not a good business practice. Many players have reported that they got the money they used to purchase Game Cards back or the additional Reward Points were credited to their account

Game Cards are no longer on sale and the redemption bonus is no longer available so don't try to get sneaky and call if you didn't purchase a Game Card or eCard during the promotion period.

I got mine back yesterday. Live Chat agent had to transfer my issue to a higher support as the maximum RP they could add to a player's account is only 75..

ReplyDeletei sent an email stating that false advertising is a breach of civil rights ive not heard back yet but maybe will get a refund or more rps which either way is a bonus...
ReplyDeleteupdate from my email i was given 160 aditional rps + 5 skill points stamina and energy refil + 25 more rps for inconveince im pretty happy with that :D
ReplyDeleteIt took 2 complaints to customer support but I did eventually get the points credited to my account yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI was initially credited 155 RPs for redeeming a Game Card. After contacting Customer Support, I was given an additional 233 RPs plus 100 RPs for the inconvenience. I'll take it! :)
ReplyDeleteI bought a Zynga card for my husband, and went he went to redeem it, he never got a single reward point for the $50.00...NOTHING< zip, zero, and we have had no luck getting any help from zynga about this...they say the card was redeemed...Been transfered to all over, and spent over 6 hours in 2 days on the phone with them, still NOTHING! grrrrr

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the advice, I sent an e-mail this afternoon complaining about not getting the 60% and got the difference plus 25 extra RP as a gift, about 85-90 RP in total....woohooo!
