Boss Fight Jack Coletello: Boss Fight Walk Through

Share:

The big bad Boss that scared The Raven away is Captain Jack Coltello and he doesn't really look like very frightening. I hear The Raven is pissed off that he got put on hold and it was advertised that he was afraid of this Boss. I'm sure not scared.
I mentioned in a earlier post that Captain Jack looks just like Cole from Mafia Wars Live fame. Nate did say in episode 4 1/2 that he would look like someone we know (1).
I was expecting Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates Of The Caribbean but I guess Cole could be a close second if he slapped on some eye liner and grew his hair and a mustache.
Find Captain Jack on your Home Page Current Event Module or on your Operations Page.
Get all the information you need about Boss Fight consumables and the Boss Reward by clicking on the little yellow question mark located in the upper left corner of the Home Page Module.
There are 3 levels of mastery and Captain Jack has health of 5,000, 20,000 and 35,000 on the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.
I won't go into too much detail because the new style of Boss Fight has been reviewed for Roughhouse Rafael, Kassina Kunoichi and The Raven. This Boss Fight was definitely not a challenge. Any left over Boss Fight consumables (aka Ammo) you have from previous Boss Fights can be used on Captain Jack. Each item does a specific range of damage and Shotgun Blasts do the most.
You can increase the amount of damage that do to Captain Jack by using Ammo is a specific sequence. Here are the three combos. The are listed from left to right (see arrows).
When you use them in a fight, they will group together and show that you were given additional damage. Now we know why Jeff mentioned that Knuckles would really help in the Boss Fight on Mafia Wars Live.

Green Combo +50 -+150 Damage
Yellow & Red Combos
+100-+120 Damage
+200-+600 Damage
You can share the combos with your mafia but at this point it is probably useless spam since these are all over the news feeds.
I laugh at combos because I collect 80 Shotgun Blasts at a time to quickly finish these types of Boss Fights. Make sure you ask your mafia to send you Shotgun Blasts. There are two different places you can do this. From the Home Page Module, click on the yellow question mark and look under your Shotgun Blasts. From the Operations Page, go to Boss Fight tab and look towards the center of the page.
Zynga nerfed the amount of Shotgun Blasts we can collect per feed from 2 to 1. It's ok as there are plenty of these requests in the news feeds. There is no limit on how many we can except, we just can't hold more than 80 in our inventory at a time. You get one Shotgun Blast anytime you click on "Send Ammo" from one of these posts.
In the past, I've shown you how to do it by using the Event Scanner bookmarklet by Team Spockholm (1)
Team Spockholm also created a mirror image bookmarklet of the Event Scanner called the Stream Scanner. This will do everything the Event Scanner does except there are no windows to open. You can quickly except Shotgun Blasts just by clicking on the "Send Ammo" links which can be found under the "bossfightv2" tab.
If you want to see what you got, there is a "Log" tab. You will often be too late but click on enough of them and you will quickly get 80 Shotgun Blasts.
You will often be too late but click on enough of them and you will quickly get 80 Shotgun Blasts. I did a 2 hours scan and got enough Shotgun Blasts to refill my stock twice.
If you don't feel like clicking and healing so much, you can use the New Like-a-Boss by Team Spockholm.
When you bring the health of Captain Jack down to zero, you master the level and get a Boss Reward. Zynga missed a spamming opportunity here as there is no way to brag to your mafia about your achievement.
That didn't stop Mike Nestor, he was proud as punch that he beat Captain Jack on the Gold Level within 15 minutes of release that he took a screen shot of his loot item and posted it to his wall.
Here is a larger image of the Whetstone Submarine that has stats of 168/116. Regardless of what level you beat Captain Jack, you only get one loot item. Higher levels of mastery will replace the existing item. The stats fro the Whetstone Submarine on the Bronze level are 128/96 and on the Silver level 149/104. You have a little over six days to go for the gold.
Once you master Captain Jack on the Gold level, he vanishes from the Home Page Module and Operations Page.
Once you complete the Boss Fight on all three levels, you should use the next 6 days to built up your Ammo supplies. You can hold up to 50 Cracks of the Bats, Knife Slashes and Bloody Knuckles and 80 Shotgun Blasts at a time. Unlike The Raven, you can can farm Ammo after you have killed off Captain Jack.

Crack of the Bat
Bloody Knuckles
Knife Slashes

Thanks to Mike Nestor for helping with the screen shots.

  2. hoping that they nerf shotguns to make boss fights more challenging and dependable upon our skills not only upon mafia members

  3. They had to have upped the limit that you can hold of Shot Gun Blasts as I currently have 81 according to this screen capture from my account > http://i56.tinypic.com/5breh.jpg

  4. Any Cities have better drop rates for bloody-knuckles and crack-the-bats? I'm getting pathetically small drop rates in Brazil and Italy.
Don't have numbers to attach, but i'm sure it will be a long time before I get to 50 of each.
    Thanks.
