Las Vegas Collection Item Drop Rates

Share:

We have 28 new collection pieces to get and I wanted to determine how hard or easy this was going to be.  I did a run of 30,001 jobs using RepeatJob Las Vegas by Team Spockholm and found most of the items drop at a very good rate of 14.6%.  All items except for 4 of them (1 from each collection) will be very easy to get.  I did 2 different runs and didn't find a major difference in drop rates between District 1 and District 6.  I don't have an image for the District 1 run because my computer crashed before I was able to take a screen shot and all the data was gone.  It's important to point out that RepeatJob will log all the items that were dropped from doing the job but the game will only hold 5 of each collection item.  The only way to ensure that you actually get all the items in your account is to gift them once you get 5.  I was only interested in the drop rate so I didn't do this. I did a Fight Job run to see if the items I didn't get would drop from doing Fight Path jobs.  I found that none of the collection items drop.  I also discovered that Bangkok, Moscow, Cuba and non-Casino consumable items don't drop at all.  Since stamina is being used and technically you are fighting, I thought Fighting High End Loot would drop.  Unfortunately it doesn't either.  The only items that drop while doing Fight Path jobs requiring stamina are the Las Vegas job and Casino building items.

After all that energy and stamina, I concluded that the items I needed were not going to drop.
I decided to try a Mystery Bag and put the items I couldn't get on my wishlist.  After opening about 6 bags, I got one of them.  Since we only need a total of 4 items that won't drop from doing jobs, it shouldn't take long to get them this way.  This is a great time to try the Bagman Mugger bookmarklet by Team Spockholm.  I also noticed that when I added an item to my wishlist from the collection page, I was booted off the Las Vegas Collection page and redirected to the Crew Collections page.  This was annoying.  I suggest you use the The Mafia Wars Wiki Wishlist Adder.  Another way to get the items that won't drop is by trading.  Please check my Trading Site page for a list of great trading sites.
With new releases come new bugs.  I mentioned in my article Collection Page Changes and New Vegas Collections a problem with the Las Vegas Tournament Collections not showing up.  This caused another glitch to happen.  Players were not able to vault the new Vegas Collections if they had already valuted the Tournament collections.  Since the Tournament Collections were not where they were supposed to be, the game determined that the Vegas Collections were the Tournament Collections.  Read all about the bugs and in the Zynga Forum Board discussion thread titled New Vegas Collection Glitch.
You can see on the image below that the first 3 Collections say Bonus Received.
Read all about the bugs and in the Zynga Forum Board discussion thread titled New Vegas Collection Glitch.  Al Catraz, Super Moderator, says it's been reported.  All these problems should be cleared up soon and we can get to work on collecting our new items.
