July 16th Weekend Review

Share:

So far the weekend is going well and Zynga had a few surprises for us.  Sure we were tricked into thinking there were going to be some great new Las Vegas loot items but most of us weren't expecting much so there is little disappointed.
2X Fight Loot
It appears Zynga has learned their lesson about blatantly manipulating statistics in order to present something that sounds good but really isn't.  VCD Burn of TopMafia.Info did a nice 25,000 stamina run and it looks like the number of High End Fighting Loot (HEFL) items has increased.  Not by 50% but this is only one run and not enough data to pinpoint the exact number.  If we use the numbers from VCDBurns stamina run then it would be a 1.6X Fighting Loot Weekend with a drop rate increase of 37.5%.
"Looking at the hard numbers of HeL drops 381 of 25k were HeL in the normal screenshot and 616 of 25k in the double loot screenshot.  It would appear they may have slightly lowered the drop rate but its hard to say for sure as it could just be the random luck......but its definitely alot better then last time"./VCDBurn
Here are screen shots from the two stamina runs before and during this weekend.  The images were provided by VCDBurn.  I got a little carried away with my newly acquired screen shot skills and added a few things to them.
BEFORE JULY 16th

 DURING THE VEGAS JACKPOT WEEKEND
The Marketplace has some really good specials going on.  Name and Class Changes for 5 RP, Stamina Refills for 6 RP and Health Refills for 1 RP all make fighting easier this weekend.  Hourly specials are going on as well.  I really liked the Stamina Refills for 5 RP.  Don't get fooled by the game.  It's very important that you go to the Marketplace to purchase these items.  If you click on the pop-up that notifies you that you are out of stamina during robbing, you will be charged the regular price.  If you run out while fighting, the pop-up is correct.

Las Vegas Loot Event
The Mafia Wars Fan Page has been busy keeping us intrigued this weekend.  They have posted a record breaking number of 3 times today.  For starters, there was a happy hour and Reward Points were 30% off.  Too bad they only gave us a 2 hour heads up.  I found out after it was over.

They also reminded me to try for Las Vegas VIP access.  I did and still had Bad Luck!  Why do I even keep trying?  This angry Milli Vinilli clone is not making my gaming experience enjoyable.
And finally, the big Las Vegas Loot Event.  It's nice that I will have a chance to get 10 each of the 7 loot items but for those who already have them, this event is not very useful.  One of my smarter mafia members, Liam Allica had this to say about the Las Vegas Loot Event:  "Not only is it the previous items, but if you got 10x each the last time, you don't get anything extra, they should have had it that we could have gotten another 10 to deal with boredom".
Challenge Mission:  South Africa
Victoria, The Community Manager of The Zynga Forum Boards made a STICKY POST informing us that there is a one day extension of The South Africa Challenge Mission.  Did The South Africa Computer Virus have anything to do with this? Ha!

  2. Don't worry about not getting into Las Vegas; there's nothing you can do once you're in except look at an ad that tells us nothing new. I thought it was a bug and wrote a support ticket for it, but no, that's it, you're in and you get to stare at an ad. No time set for when it will be fixed, blah blah Zynga garbage blah blah.
