4 More Zynga Game Closures Announced

Share:

Zynga quietly announced the closure of 4 more games on their respective forums. Pioneer Trail, Duck Dynasty, Zynga Slots and Riches of Olympus will shut down on April 30, 2015. It’s obvious Zynga doesn’t have much interest in adjusting their games to support the new Facebook API which will happen on April 30th. About 2 weeks ago the announcement for the closure of CityVille on this same day was made [1]. It’s rumored 10 games are going to be shut down so there are 6 more to go. I love how Zynga even copies and pastes their devastating (to the players) announcements. It wasn’t nice to say they look forward to seeing the Pioneer Trail players in ‘our other great slots games’ only for them to go find out that 3 of these greats will also be shutting down. That’s not a good way to store faith in the Zynga brand. Thanks to Oliver for sending me this information.

    4. No games are safe. It's only a matter of time and MW and Farmville will get the axe.

    5. MW sucked the bag 5 years ago, only a bunch of losers play now. I suggest the sooner it goes the better, and those OCD's still playing can get the therapy they need

    6. I don't play MW and I haven't for years, but to call those that still play "losers" makes you out to be pathetically weak. Is that what you are? Let people play what they want to play without the stupid name calling.

    1. Yes, As we all know Zynga never really got the grasp of coding API so when facebook switches to the API2 routing, Zynga may have to start hiring programmer who have a college education in programming.

  7. I was a daily Pioneer Trail player, and I spent money on the game too. I refuse to do that in the future. I will not find another game to play, either. Gonna get out and live my life. Zynga lost a paying customer. Hope that helps their dismal future.

  8. If MW goes away my FB account gets closed. Facebook is about as stupid as it is intrusive

    1. I agree! The only reason I logged in to Facebook was to play my favorite games. All the other posts and junk were time filler until my energy refilled.

  11. April 30 is still almost 6 weeks away. There's still plenty of time to announce the closure of Mafia Wars. We won't be sure until they announce the last 5. Frankly, I will be amazed if Mafia Wars continues past April 30.

(By the way, I cannot comment on this blog using Chrome. It's been that way for months. There is no text box in which to write comments.)

  12. They will make sure to get that last payment from VIP players, then shut her down. That's just how low they are. Oh and this is posted via Chrome. VIP players should do a class action against them if they do take payment before shutting it down.

  13. Looks like Z is getting out of the Flash game altogether. Actually, their basic premise of charging to even play is an outmoded system. Most successful games today are interactive and playing costs nothing. However, to upgrade and personalize your persona is where they make their $$$ and it is a system that works fantastically !

  14. After the next VIP renewel I'm done paying another dime to these assholes. The game doesn't even work half the time anymore.

  15. mafia wars will not be shut down for atleast 3 more months, considering they just released a new destination.

  17. You are a lot of whingers.
I take it that you only play this game so that you can whinge.
I see that there are stacks of other games that you can play on the same lines as Mafia Wars but then they probable won't let players use scripts - why don't you play 1 of them?

  18. The Riches of Olympus slot game was only a Mobile game. You couldn't play it on FB. And wow, I didn't know they had done the same to the Duck Dynasty one. At this point no Zynga games are safe Mobile or FB.
