Zynga Announces the Shutdown of 4 More Games

Share:

Today 4 more games got the pink slip and won’t be around much longer. This leaves us asking when will this happen to Mafia Wars? There aren’t that many Zynga games left on Facebook. The 4 games that are shutting down are Hidden Shadows, CoasterVille, Hidden Chronicles and Café World. It’s funny that all 4 of these games had cross promotions with Mafia Wars and now all the loot that we earned for participating (except for 1 item) is as obsolete as the games themselves will soon be. For a blast from the past, the games are listed from the most recent cross-game promo to the latest. Links for the walkthroughs are provided. Sadly all the shutdown announcements sound the same and I wonder what they will say to us.Thanks to Malcolm Midwood for posting on our fan page.

  1. Coasterville never would load for me. Eventually I stopped trying. Many of us had trouble with Ville, quickly, when it first started. I had suspected and confirmed it was due to adding too many neighbors, when I finally convinced a Zynga customer service person to remove my neighbors, which finally let me back into that game. Games die (QUICKLY) if they don't work!!

  2. I might be cynical but I feel the bombardment of events is a ploy to lose mafia players so they can close it pointing to the falling player base. Every time we get events dumped on us, I lose some mafia since they have had enough.

  3. Most of those games have the very annoying think of begging for parts, items hundreds of time per day and players start get bored could not complete a task and when you have to wait for a day usually many days that's it. As for hidden shadows I like the hidden object kind of games but playing the same part many times to find the same items, all those times playing the same level it is tiring. I stopped this game after a month of its depute.

  5. Well if You truely believe Mafia Wars will be shutting down soon then there is no sense in spending any more money on a game that will soon end.

  6. Wait what, why do they close hidden shadow?
Didnt they launch this game not long ago?
I found it fun, but didnt play it that much, oh well.

  7. I really enjoyed Hidden Chronicles when it first came out and stayed with it for a long time but, then the designers decided to over-complicate it and made it almost impossible to play without spending a lot of money. I think Zynga are launching a lot of these games with the hope that one of them will become "the next big thing" and hope people become so addicted they will spend.

PS: Thanks for all your hard work Jen. :)

  9. Coasterville started dying when it's development team left/was let go/was outsourced and the new developers had to relearn the entire system so it stagnated and started losing more and more players. I very rarely had loading problems with it and will end the game with a massive park.

As for Mafia Wars, look at the number of players with VIP subscriptions and the number of people who buy reward points for the game. As long as Zynga continues to make money from a "free" game, Mafia Wars should be safe, despite the doom and gloom predictions.

  11. Do what You want... It's your company, and you're able to break it as you want. Despicte so, Hiden C, neither, CoasterV. couldn't be charged whitout intensively refreshing times. And I noticed that Hidden S. Demmanded a lot of work to my brand new computer to work. In other hand, my Ophtalmologyst told me that the images of Hidden S. were too demmanding to my eyes. Café world is annother story. I think that the closure of Cafe World will lead Zynga to theyr own closure.

  12. Cafe World is my favorite Zynga game, I have played from the beginning and I am sorry to see it go. The VIP membership was a good idea except for one thing, 15.00 was too pricey for a game with so many glitches, but I would have paid 5. Lots of my friends would have, too. Also, millions stopped playing when the goals became almost impossible to achieve for free. And it was not cheap to buy your way through. Some of their "sales" on items were almost 100.00! Yes, I did buy spices in the game at the beginning just to finish the goal faster (all goals were able to be completed in the beginning), but as goals got harder and harder, I closed my pocketbook. So when it is done, oh well.......it was fun while it lasted.

  13. My regret is that I was not able to complete al of the scenes that I'd started in Hidden Chronicles. Another regret that I have is that Zynga does not seem interested in putting Hidden Chronicles, and its "sister game" Hidden Shadows, on compact discs so that those who enjoyed playing these games (like yours truly) could play them at their leisure. Well, I suppose that time will tell.

  14. I was/am deeply saddened at the closures of "Hidden Chronicles" an "Hidden Shadows". I can only hope that Zynga will have the presence of mind to sell them as a pair on compact disc(s). Who knows? I might be able to purchase them...at some point in time,
