For the short time the Arena was available, players who had it saw a special Marketplace unique to the Arena. This is where Power Ups can be crafted and purchased. Power Cards are needed to craft items and reward points are needed to purchase them. The “Introductory Offer” makes me wonder if the prices will increase once the Arena has been out for a while. If so, it may not be a bad idea to use all those Power Cards you collected now rather than later as the costs could go up. Not all Power Ups can be crafted. The Stamina Skill Points "Power Up" is really just stamina points. It's cheaper to speed up a property so don't be tricked into thinking it's something different. I broke the information shown in the image below and put it into chart form. Click image to enlarge for a better view.
Power Cards can also be purchased with reward points but you can get up to 60 of them free each day. According to the FAQ, 10 each will drop in fights, jobs and be offered as Arena rewards. You can get 15 per day by asking your mafia (5 per hours) and 15 per day by helping your mafia members.
The Power Ups you can make with Power Cards or purchase with reward points are shown below. This could possibly change at any time as the costs were pulled from the "Introductory Offer" screen.
Power Up | Description | Power Cards | Reward Points |
Stamina Refill![]() | Refills Your Stamina | -- | 8 |
Health Refill![]() |

4 | 2 |

Meta Flair![]() |

Reflector![]() | Reflect the damage dealt by opponents. (10 seconds) (10 second cooldown) | 8 | 4 |
UPDATE: The Reflector Power Up was unlocked and added to the Arena.
At this time, we don’t know what happened to the Reflector. It was not available when the Arena was live and was never added to the inventory. The Mafia Wars Event Page did list it as one of the Power Ups and it does appear in a few images from the FAQ.
i looked thru the speel that zynga put out about this and personaly i dont get it .. yes its a new feature in the game and doesnt from what they were saying give you any benefits within the game the loot items they showed are useless for 80% of the players .. the one thing it does or will do is make people spend there stamina taking them away from the fighhtlist and robbing but then you will SPEND your rp's within the Arena again another very thought out gimmick to make money at zyngarobyoublind.com
ReplyDeletethanks for all you do Jen n company
ReplyDeletecurious about the rewards.....
The rewards so far have been kinda crappy as in 153 attack defense I have yet to see anything higher and have came in first several times, It wipes stamina like no other... seems not worth it at this point.....I hope it gets better back to the fight lists for me lol :)
ReplyDeleteI know this is an old post, but just yesterday the Arena was opened to me... and being apathetic as I've been towards MW lately (because of work and other personal obligations), I hadn't paid any attention to it all until now... I don't know how to craft Power Ups - don't see any sign of them in my Marketplace. Guess I'll just plug along and work on finishing the two newer London districts, run Assassin-a-Nator and forget about the Arena.. for now, anyway.. :/
ReplyDeleteBTW, thanks for all you do for the MW community, Jen... :)
There is a special Marketplace within the Arena. You should see a Power Up Tab once you get there. Go there and you can buy and craft all the boosts.
Deletejust got the arena. 1 question; is there a timer on the stamina refill? or must you purchase 1 every time?
ReplyDeletefor me too, this is a very old post, my arena just opened last week so I'm very far behind. wondering if I could possible make it through with the 14 days left. like the first post here, I don't understand it either. the only reason I want to do it is because I want to get ALL achievements.I don't want to spend rp's and wasting my stamina is also something I don't was to do, dammit, I'm confused and confusing!
ReplyDeleteWhat are stamina skill points? What do they do, how do I use them?
ReplyDeleteThey are just your stamina points. They are used as the normal ones. It's just a gimmick to try to get you to spend full price for stamina points rather than get them through crafting.
