Zynga Unbreaks “Old School” Unframing

Share:

Edit: Prior to Team Spockholm announcing this big news on their fan page, De Purdy from MWAddon Beta test group discovered and posted about first and should get all the credit [1].

About 8 months ago Zynga intentionally broke unframing as we knew and loved it [1]. If their reason for this was to stop script use, it didn’t work. Within days, workarounds were created and we got used to it. Today Team Spockholm announced on their fan page that “old school” unframing works again [1]. This is great news for those who don’t enjoy loading issues and prefer to use stand alone scripts. To unframe your game, simply drag and drop the unframe bookmarklet located here and click on it from a framed game. You can also use the links below. Either way true unframing is once again easy peasy! At this time it is unknown if Zynga is being nice or if this is a positive side effect adding the of the Arena.

  1. Also with current toolbar, if you open a new tab by right clicking any link on page, it goes to unframe

  2. From my previous post, once you do that, the scripts work like they use to as well.

    1. Thank makes a lot more sense now. Didn't understand what Glen was saying. I"m not familiar with everything on the AddOn.

    1. Sorry I don't have time to look at every place on the internet to see who posted about something first. Believe it or not I do get nasty inbox message from people claiming to be the first for things that popup in the game or have banners. I only mentioned the AddOn post here because they did post in on our fan page and at the time I didn't put 2 and 2 together. I have been busy in real life and when I came back on line the Spocks were very excited and talking about it. I didn't think to ask them how it was discovered. In the end, all thanks and praise should go to Zynga for taking the unframe block away.

  5. what is so exciting about being able to unframe?
I thought since the toolbar allows you to use the scripts without unframing, that was the solution?
what is the difference between fake unframing and real unframing???

    1. Difference is running scripts from bookmark toolbar or via a loader like toolbar.
Fake unframing, no direct run of scripts, only via loader.

    2. Also true unframing versus fake is much smoother when it comes to loading issues. It's just nicer.

    3. but who needs direct run with the spock toolbar it makes it easy... the only advantage I see would be for private scripts *rolleyes*, but even then you can add as a spocklet.

doing some comparisons over the past 24 hours, I do not notice any difference in performance between framed and unframed, but maybe at times there could be, I don't know.

i think the biggest advantage here is for the users of rogue scripts, which is most likely why zynga shut it down in the first place.

  6. I like to know how many people are still playing the game, as in the Wall Street Journal and other respectful sources are stating that the founder of this crap we called entertainment is running scared that his product is slipping more by the day. The best news, stock prices keep falling and even better, this game is on the brink of either reverting back to what we loved or going, going, going, GONE! I love to see what is to come as I tend to write here once a few weeks when I have down time.

    2. don't be naive, as long as the game makes money it will survive, it will keep going or be sold to another owner who will run it their way.

  7. Seems to be broken for me yet again. :(
