More than few players are reporting that they are getting a “Your account has been temporarily suspended” message while on Facebook. Most are getting the option to change their password but some have reported the dreaded photo ID test.
Most are getting the option to change their password but some have reported the dreaded Facebook Photo Security Check (1).
If you get one of these messages, it’s best to close the window and go to facebook.com before proceeding. Don’t ever enter account sensitive information unless the url in your browser bar is facebook.com.
I’m not sure why this is happening to a large number of players so I looked around in the Facebook Help Center. It seems this is standard operating procedure if Facebook detects suspicious activity on your account. I’ve heard that there has been a high incidence of hacked Facebook accounts recently and don’t know if this has something to do with that. Go here to read more and here to learn what you can do to prevent it from happening again.
Thanks to Nikos Michonivich for the first 3 screen shot and to all those who provided more details.
This happened to me a couple of years ago-was locked out for three months because of the photo ID deal-was finally given the option of having a security code sent to my e-mail. It turns out someone in Paraguay was trying to access my account-my account was temporarily hacked again after that but I caught them just as they got into the account and I was able to shut them down before they could create havoc and cause a lot of damage
ReplyDeleteThis has been happening to my Wife's M.W.'s account for the last 7 days. We have BOTH used E-Mail's and live chat to no avail, They keep telling her that there has been suspicious activity on her account. Finally today after over an hour and 1/2 between us and the live chat. they saw the err's of their ways as after being unable to do anything in her MW acc. yet everyday she received E-mails stating her acc. was suspended for suspicious activity, ( DUH ) she could do no more than look at her MW home page. They while on Live chat gave her back her game. Not more than 1/2 an hour later she got a e-mail her acc. was under a 24 hr. investigation due to abnormally high fighting and property activity (huh??) I do know someone hacked our family account about a week ago we have had problems big and small since, but I DO BELIEVE the two are connected, Thanks for the info you impart on us.WE NEED IT> And now I know...
ReplyDeleteThis is a Facebook security issue. Facebook and Mafia Wars have nothing to do with each other other than FB being a platform for the game. Many people who play MW seem to confuse the two entities. Mw cannot help you with a FB security check and FB can do nothing if MW has suspended your account for suspicious activity in the game.
DeleteI hate the photo identifying thingy. I have 3000+ friends and I don't even know how they look like. -.-"
ReplyDeletei had it a couple of times on my account, and it turned out it was hacked, so i asked my dearest fam clan to keep attacking that account till i got that back; it took a few days and i had it back, 1 advice never put in your phonecell nr, keep your mail secret(no one but you can see it)change every week or 2 weeks your pasword, also the pasword of your mail and the one you use on fb should be different; only friends can see your account(not friends of friends etc) that was the answer of the support
ReplyDeleteabout 8 hrs ago it happened to me. It asked to put words shown in box. I tried it but it didnt accept for 30 mins. Later it accepted . ANd i got my acc back
ReplyDeleteIt's happening to me right now! I'm locked out of both of my mini accounts! I'm past the photo ID option...now they want a cell phone number to call or text me a security code. That's fine...except that the call option doesn't work...it keeps saying that their lines are busy! Haven't tried live chat but may do so...
ReplyDeleteit happen to me because of logging in to another facebook account, now if anybody else wants to use my computer to go on facebook they will have to use google chromes incognito window or another browser
ReplyDeleteall good before info ... how to remove it is what i'm note sweeing !!!!
ReplyDeletehad it happen to me, I had to do about 25 captchas, photo recognition (I have 4000+ friends) and redo my password.
ReplyDeleteI had this problem once. And I immediately clear my cookies and go to gmail to see if I have notice from fb. Lucky me, my fb account is safe.
ReplyDelete@ Anon that posted at 4:13 AM. Literally the exact same thing happened to me. I had to force quit firefox then re-open it and it finally accepted the captcha.
