Yesterday, Erin asked us on the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page if there was a way to request Absinthe Boosts without having to sacrifice your stored fighting boosts (1). The simple answer is “Yes”. Keep reading to learn how.
The Absinthe boost will increase your attack skills for 1 fight by 25%. If your personal attack score is high enough, this boost is much better than the other fighting boosts like Hollow Points which only increase your attack skills by +100.
Absinthe boosts were introduced to the game in June of last year (1). They were initially available via the free gift system but Zynga swiftly changed their location to the Marketplace and started charging for them.
Zynga threw us a bone and made it possible to request Absinthe boosts through the news feeds (1). The “Ask” button is located right in the middle of the Fight Module. It’s not practical to stop in the middle fighting to generate some spam but that’s how Zynga rolls!
When you click on the “Ask” button, a request for Absinthe boosts will be generated. You can get up to 10 per day and those who help you will get one too.
The main problem with this system is the “Ask” button only appears when you have 0 attack boosts in your inventory. If you are saving your boosts for a rainy day, then you can’t ask for them. I’m not sure if this is an oversight by Zynga or if they are trying to encourage us to use our boosts.
There is a way to ask for these boosts regardless of how many attack boosts you have in your inventory. Thanks to Brandon Venery, there is now a script which will force load the request. To use it, follow the instructions below.
1. Click, drop and drag the bookmarklet below into your bookmark toolbar. If you aren’t familiar with this process, go here.

2. Go to Mafia Wars and unframe your game. Use the link below if you aren’t familiar with unframing and it will do all the work!
3. Attack somebody one time (or more if you wish).
4. Go to your bookmark toolbar and click on the Absinthe Boost Post bookmarklet one time. A request will appear. You can see on the image below, I have 12,500 attack boosts.
5. Click “Share” and wait for your boosts to arrive. From the request above, I got 10 Absinthe boosts.

You can use this bookmarklet to ask for boosts as many times as you want but you will only get 10 Absinthe Boosts per day. For each post you make, 10 of your mafia members will get a boost for helping. These work like the Artillery Sells and Reinforced Concrete requests. It doesn’t matter if you ask or help, 10 a day is all you can get.
If you use the Stream Scanner by Team Spockholm, these requests can be found in the “fight” tab and the requests will say “Send fight boosts”.

ReplyDeleteThat is the correct code. If the drag and drop bookmarklet doesn't work (it does for me), paste that code into your browser bar. You need to be unframed and you need to attack someone first. It takes about a second for the request to popup.

Deletethis is nice, just wish it worked with MW Addon. I use a lot of spocklets as plug-ins, that way I get the best of both worlds. I can run all the others without being in "unframed" mode. this will not work framed or unframed as a plug-in
