It’s sad to see but the Carnival Mystery Bags have been removed from the Free Gift Page. Mardi Gras, "Fat Tuesday" is on Feb 21st this year so you would think they would have left them alone. Hopefully they will bring them back for the special day.

Zynga did forget to remove the Carnival Mystery Bag Icon from the Game Header. Maybe this is a sign they will be back on Fat Tuesday!
Carnival Mystery Bags are good for 48 hours once they are sent. If you can manage to save the ones you have in your ZMC for the next reset, you can open 20 more. The best way to ensure your Carnival Mystery Bags won’t get bumped is to accept or ignore all the other gifts frequently until the next reset. The Gift Collector by Team Spockholm will make this much easier.
The Current Events Module is looking a little whimpy. I don’t recall ever seeing it down to 3 modules. For some reason the Featured Items and Your Mafia Activity Modules are missing in action. Not much else is going on. I’m sure it will get filled up again this week. Zynga always thinks of something.
Although they have been removed from the Free Gifts section, I still had over 90 of them. After reading this article, I opened my daily limit of 20 and received 5 Energy Points, 5 Attack Points, and 3 Samba dancers. The rest was junk....

Delete3 days worth of Carnival Mystery Bags... and so far, ZERO Samba dancers. I've gotten energy and attack points and the usual other stuff. But ZERO Samba dancers. Live Chat was less than helpful...
