In Mafia Wars, we have the option to make our inventory private or public. This option will only hide the number of items you own from other players. To change the status of your inventory, scroll to the bottom of your Mafia Wars Profile Page.
Changing your inventory stats to private doesn't hide everything. Anybody can go to your Profile Page and see what items you own. They won't see how many but can get an idea of what you have. This poses a problem for players who wish to keep their Loyalty Status private. All you need to do is scroll their Profile Page and look for the Loyalty Program items.
Regardless of your inventory stats setting, any player can see how many active items you own. All they need to do is attack you and click on the "more info..." link.
After clicking on the more info link, you have two choices.
If you choose "View Opponent's Inventory" and their inventory stats privacy is set to private....
...you won't get any useful information about the equipment your opponent owns.
If their status is public, the word "Private" will not appear and you are golden. You can view all of their attack and defensive equipment items and how many of each they own. Competitive players usually keep their inventory status private.
The "Show all items Used" link will offer you a look at the active defense items and number owned of the person you attacked used in the fight. This is how many get around the privacy settings. The problem with this method is you have to attack the player you are interested in. If the player is in your mafia, you must remove them in order to make the attack and view the equipment items.
Team Spockholm has created a way for us to view active defense equipment items of any player without the need to attack them. They created a Spocklet called 501 and it's available to all Spockholm Toolbar users. To start using this feature, follow the instructions below.
1. Ensure that your Spockholm Toolbar is installed and active on your account. If you haven't installed or used the Spockholm Toolbar, go
here for instructions.
2. Click
here and wait for the script to load to your toolbar. If everything loaded properly, you will get a confirmation message that states "501 has been added to your toolbar.".
3. Go to any Mafia Wars Profile Page.
4. Type 501 into the toolbar search bar and click on it.
If added, you can also click on 501 from the Spocklets Drop Menu.
5. Wait a few moments and the Items Used Page for the player will appear.
To share this Spocklet, go to the configuration page after it is added and click on the first export icon.
You will get a post to share on your wall and once your mafia members click on it, they will have 501 on their toolbar.

ReplyDeleteI am so sick of this....WTH is everything on the toolbar and not the BK webpage??????? Some of use do not wish to use a toolbar as its always resetting or lvl up window never pops up and u miss out on the reward.... Now Boss fighter beta and this new one called 501....BS thats all I a going to say...next thing you know we are going to have to pay a membership fee just to us the Java like MWunlocked... Totally dislike how spockholms Mafia tools are moving..

ReplyDeleteFirst, we are moving ahead. All our Spocklets are still free and your are certainly able to figure out how to access the code for Family Boss Fighter and 501 without having the toolbar installed. Yes it will be added to the Web Page too. Patienace Grass Hopper.
Management of a spocklets it a lot of work. Many people are using our free toolbar so adding it there is more practical becuase the spocklets in the toolbar load from the Database. The intention is to have the website using the same codebase so we save once and it is available everywhere. However, we have not gotten there yet. Be patient we are working on making our life easier.
Now you know where we are headed. I can assure you Spockholm is not headed down the path of some others charging for access to scripts. Development time costs money and I appreciate the others wanting to charge to recoup that time. We are not all about the money otherwise we would not have dedicated as much time and energy to this game, and its fans through the years. So SPOCK-ON and enjoy the tools. We expect to release more good stuff in the future.
