We were warned a few days ago that the Daily Chance feature was going to be removed from the game (1). Zynga was a day late but the feature is now gone. The Daily Chance Tab has been removed from the Marketplace and the page no longer exists.
I don't know if there will be a final drawing or what will happen with any tickets that were submitted before today. There were no results were given and I probably wasn't my time submitting my last 50 tickets. You would think Zynga would let players know what is going on. I never cared for or used the feature but many did and earned tickets.
We were promised that there would be other ways in game to acquire the collection items. Daily Chance items now drop while doing jobs in New York. They are still giftable so there are still two ways to get them.
If you go to the New York Collections Page, you will see that Zynga went a little crazy and added additional Daily Chance Collection slots to the page. Most players are finding that they have three or four of them. There is a slot which contains the original collection.
There are also three additional collections which are labeled with a New York Job Tier. You can see in the parenthesis that I have Daily Chance Collections labeled for the Associate, Soldier and Consigliere Job Tiers.
These are all the same collection. If you look at the numbers they are identical. I sent 4 Daily Chance Collections to an account that didn't have any and I also did a 2,500 job run in the
All items went to all collection slots so this is most likely an error. I'm hope Zynga will eventually remove the extra Daily Chance displays because it is causing confusion. There is only one Daily Chance Collection.
The rules for the Daily Chance Collection are now the same as the other collections. You can hold up to 5 of each item. Once you have 5 or more of a specific collection piece, any items that drop from jobs will not be added. You can hold an unlimited amount of items if you get them through gifting but once you have 5 you can no longer get them from doing jobs. If you want to continue to get collection items from doing jobs, you need to gift them away from your account.
The drop rates for these items are about the same as the other collection items. Earlier today they were dropping at an accelerated rate. Lotto items were also placed in the collection if you had more than 5 so it was easy to acquire a butt load of them. Zynga has since corrected the drop rate.
In the run below, I did the 3,000 jobs and spent a total of 6,000 energy. I got 10 collection items.
Essentially what Zynga has done is made the Daily Chance collection less valuable than it was in the past. Thanks to the black market and cloning scripts, the market was already saturated with these items and this just made it worse. Vaulting the Daily Chance Collection does nothing for you. The +10% increase to job loots only applies to New York, Cuba, Moscow and Bangkok. Since 3 of the 4 destinations have been removed from the game. All you will get are 10% more crappy items if you do jobs in New York. Who need Brass Knuckles and Butterfly Knives?
Those Rooster Sculptures now have more value. At least when you vault them you get something tangible.

ReplyDeleteyou don't receive a +3 defense with revaulting the sculptures collection. in the screenshot it appears as though it wasn't initially vaulted.

I have been playing this game for years, have religiously played the Daily Chance, and have ZERO pieces. NONE!
Here is why I badly wanted, and still want, this collection:

There has been no way for me to complete this achievement while others have it completed. How many who completed this collection did it honestly, by collecting the items themselves? And for those who traded, how do you know the traded items weren't cloned?
Probably almost nobody did this honestly. So it's about freaking time Zynga fixed this massively unfair situation.
And of course now I hear that drop rates were really good earlier today and have been nerfed. Nice. Way to fuck it up once again, Zyng-holes. I can't even begin to tell you how pissed off I am at this entire situation. So now I'm going to run RepeatJob until I get these. Already did one 18,000 energy run and got jack squat. Lovely.
First, you never ever needed to vault the lotto collection to get he NY or Cuba vaulting achievement...it doesn't count. I've gotten it long ago as a beginning player w/o any lotto at all.
DeleteI've played the daily chance, not everyday but often enuf to get a few pieces back when it was still on the front page of player updates. At that time, there was no such thing as cloning loot, and ppl traded their HEL for pieces or sets.
Without having lotto vaulted on any of my accts, at this point I really don't think it ever mattered. I still played, still got maxed out on HEL, and still enjoyed the game for the most part.
Don't hate on others just b/c you didn't get anything and accuse those who did of cheating and getting clones.
I am with you on this one buddy. I have been playing this shitty game for 3 years with 750+ consecutive days doing jobs and I don't get one piece neither.

Well, you're right, it turns out it doesn't matter for the achievement. I assumed because it was on the New York list that it was required to complete the New York vaulting achievement. Weirdly enough, it is not. How was I supposed to know that? (Yes, I see now it's in the wiki, but still...)

Anyway, I was asking Loot Lady, not you (who I happen to know had items gifted to her). Just because a couple people got it naturally doesn't mean all the clones out there are fair. *MOST* people got this via clones, either directly or indirectly. They got a 10% drop rate increase by cheating and Zynga didn't do a thing about it.
The drop rate for the collection items was allegedly 1 in about 580 tickets. I played over 1000 tickets and got nil. Meanwhile, others did nothing and had clones handed to them. Am I allowed to be bitter? Yes I am.
Get over it.

new york doesnt include lotto,so if u vaulted all but lotto u wouldve gotten the achievement long ago..it was just placed in new york..didnt count towards achievement though..
ReplyDeleteOuch! It looks like you're right. There were a couple other collections I hadn't bothered vaulting (Sculptures and Poker Chips) and now that I did I have the achievement.

ReplyDeleteFor those trying to do the daily chance collection, here's a tip: do the "Mugging" job for 2 energy (in the Associate tier). The drop rate is *awesome*. I don't think the drop rate has been nerfed at all.
I initially did a 40 energy job 450 times, for 18,000 energy total, and got nothing. Then I did the Mugging job only about 300 times (only 600 energy total) and had multiple sets.
This has been verified on multiple accounts.
After you have 5 of each item they stop dropping, so that's probably where the drop rate 'nerf' rumour came from.
I played the lotto every week since I started playing and never got any lotto pieces. Not one.No one had them they were so hard to get. I knew a lot of people who sill needed pieces. I eventually got tired of trying and paid $5.00 for it. Is that cheating? I hardly think so as it is my money to do with as I like. Of course after that the prices was lowered to $1.00 for the collection. So did I get a good deal all considered,no. But, again, it is my money and I wanted it done after trying for so long and not getting it.If I could have traded for it I would have. I don't consider any of that cheating and don't much care if Zynga does or some bitter player does. How is gifting cheating? Collection pieces are giftable and there is nothing wrong with gifting anything that is giftable.

ReplyDeleteWell I played my account for year and one half, and I had several drops from the Lotto Set, but then I would get like 40 to 50 tickets per week. I had 5 of the lotto set, and was gifted the other 2. But that was a long time ago. So after that then I did get drops and gifted them to others. But upset that never won any rps from all those tickets.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started playing I got several of them right off the bat ans one I had two of them so I sent it to a lady that was teaching and helping me learn the game. I sent it only because it was the first time I had 2 of a vault piece. Well she went to nutsville when she saw what she had! Said, "OMG,"Is this thing real ? ! I had really gotten to the point of believing they were a myth and now a baby in the game sends me one ?" When I told here I one more just like it and two others, she really tripped out. I ended up sending her a roulette wheel and although over time, I picked up one here and there, I never ever got another wheel until someone gifted me one. I played the daily chance every day but only collected once a week for over a year.

I agree that this does level the playing field but all zynga has done is stick us with another useless collection in which the masses are raving yahoos. At the end of the day, it is still useless. See Diamonds, Rings, Trophies, Belts and 99.9% of the other collections. I have over 40+sets so the last thing I need now is 41 sets.

ReplyDeleteI've been playing MW daily for almost 4 yrs too.. &have always played the daily tickets.. But to support one of the other posters, I'm also someone who has NEVER won ANY of those collection items. I even had 'em on my wishlist for a some time, but never got a one. With the recent changes however, I've been able to vault it by doing the "mugging" job in the first NY job tier. In saying that- It's a game.. it's supposed to be something FUN! I just try not to be bitter about it- or take it soooo seriously that I'd get pissy or waste time worrying about it; not like that would make it any better anyway, right?! So I wish people would quit finding reasons to complain about ev..er...y...thing! (seems like it's always "something"-"anything", ya know?) Cuz we can either accept how the proverbial cards shall fall.. OR move on. IDK, I choose to play the game & try to just enjoy it for what it is. :) -Not meant to be insulting OR to downplay any of the issues- Good luck & happy Hunting fellow players.
