Moments ago, all Mafia Wars news feed posts mysteriously vanished. For the past month, many players have had problems with not getting Mafia Wars posts into their news feeds
(1). This is something different and worse. The Zynga Customer Support Page posted yesterday is NOT related to the current issue
(1). It's the same type of problem but not the one addressed yesterday. Zynga has yet to address the present day situation.
Mafia Wars post from both your wall and the news feeds are gone. If you had the news feed bug in the past, you could still visit the walls of your mafia and see their posts

Known Issues Page and it was about as useful as the one Zynga has on their forums. Hopefully this is just Facebook doing something and the matter will be resolved shortly. Until more is known about this widespread problem, we just have to wait.
I went to my Mafia Wars game and generated a post. After I published it, I checked my wall and it wasn't there. There are many features and limited timed events that rely on news feed requests. If the issue isn't resolved then Zynga will need to consider an extension for the Assassin's Academy and the Limited Time Mission.
I'm not sure if this issue affects all games or just the ones by Zynga. I was able to see older posts of some non-Zynga games but so far haven't found any for a Zynga game. Zynga may want to get some of their 30% back from Facebook if they keep jacking with their spam.

I am missing ALL aps from my feed and wall. Zynga games, Castle Age, Sorority Life, etc. as well as lolli pop, horoscopes, and on and on. My hubby and cousin's acts are missing everything as well.
ReplyDeleteI have my entire friends list in a list so that I can see my feed the way it used to be and it is only showing personal type posts. So, this is not just Zynga.
This situation has been going on all weekend.......it was just farmville/cityville/cafeworld posts disappearing on Friday/Saturday. Today is the 1st time mafia wars has bit the big one too.

ReplyDeleteWork around: When the post opens to be posted, right click on the blue writing and select copy link address. Post that to your wall/status and get your stuff that way.
GOOD IDEA!!!You would think of this but a lot are not computer savvy and are unable to generate a url...so let us HOPE that WHATever the problem it is quickly resolved!!! Maybe a u-tube or LL video showing people what to do(or a link to an existing one) will help??? :)))

ZYNGA had that same issue yesterday with 2 of it's other games-- so I would venture to say it is their problem not Facebooks

Players of multiple games have reported that they are having issues seeing their own Zynga game feed posts or posts from their neighbors. In some cases, older posts for these games have disappeared as well. We understand that posting and collecting from feed posts is an important part of our games.
We have notified our engineering teams and they are working on a fix.
There is no need to submit an email for this issue as we have enough information to research a fix. To help us out, click Please Fix below to help us keep track of the total number of affected players.

ReplyDeleteWhich by the way is exactly what I suspected would happen when it kept gradually happening to more and more accounts without any serious effort by Zynga to look into it.
Also having issues with wars. Getting the same message. You have already participated in 5 wars. If that was the case I should be getting 5 rewards. Only getting 1 or 2. Have missed out on many loot items because of this.
ReplyDeleteI wrote to Zynga as part of the Assassin Academy Property survey: I won't get into general reproaches I'm sure you are flooded with. Let alone the frustration caused to over 90% of the daily players, causing game abandon and in-family ruptures, there is a more pragmatic reason the upgrade system should change. Reverting to a modality similar to the classic properties would prevent abandon caused by frustration, but also abuses such as flooding, fake linking or even hacking. The players eager to access the new loot and bonuses would do their best to get the upgrades asap, meanwhile the regular players would also try to get the required consumables in time. But not in such a limited time that could cause crashes, extreme lag and Facebook retaliation, such as posts captcha confirmation or eventually, totally blocking Mafia Wars or Zynga posting. Relax the gaming experience. I am a sociologist and i know what i'm saying. Thank You. Alex.

ReplyDeleteFacebook have prevented all apps from posting to their pages. I'll take a guess they are after more money, seeing as so many games rely on being able to post. I will also assume that it is Zynga that they are targeting, but to make it seem fair they have removed all apps, so that Zynga can't say they are being victimized for being popular. In the meantime, right click the blue bit, copy link address and post to your wall with a description. We will just have to work around their politics ;)

ReplyDeleteHave seen several posts saying that it appears that FB and Zynga are having a fight regarding FB Credits and purchasing them directly through Mafia Wars. Rumor has it this is why our posts are not showing up. The "claim" is that the FB Gods have removed them all. Kinda like cutting of your nose to spite your face in my opinion as a case of FB trying again to hone in on Zynga's profits. I had difficulties buying RP's today. Perhaps this is why I had so many problems purchasing RP that I gave up doing so today.
