It appears that Zynga took away the functionality to convert one gift into another one. Moments ago, all the scripts with this feature broke and returned errors instead of gifts. Team Spockholm waited it out to see if Zynga was going to prevent gift conversion and it seemed that they weren't. Two days ago they introduced the Gift Collector. If you attempt to use it now, you will get "Something has gone wrong. This error has been logged and we're looking into it." instead of the gift you chose.

i used it to finish the incoginto event, worked great, then concentrated on stocking up on special parts and exotic feed..so have plenty of both in reserve now. thanks team spockholm (always a new challenge)
ReplyDeleteSadly i think we are witnessing the sudden death of Mafia Wars.People are dropping like flies daily and it appears that is Zynga's intention , run them off as fast as possible and close the doors.

ReplyDeleteRIP Gift Collector. Thank you to all the guys and gals at Spockholm for the efforts they put in programming this. Sucks that Zynga ruined your great work. This might have been my favorite script of all time except for Assassin-a-nator.
ReplyDeleteI guess I won't be finishing the spam event a third time. I usually only do it once but was going to finish this time because I could convert worthless gifts to something useful. Now I'll just get worthless stuff again. Sigh.

Its a funny thing that happened today while i was playing though..
ReplyDeleteI was using Assassinator and i killed some player called Mafia Wars! It was right there on the screen while i read it! (Wish i had taken a screenshot),
The things Zynga is doing is really really sad! Wish They would hire Or quite frankly hand over Mafia Wars game to Team Spockholm!! We would enjoy it Much Much better than the cr*p Zynga gives us!
I am sure it is no coincidence that the rumour of closing MWs down due to low numbers and all these underhand tricks are linked.
ReplyDeleteThis just goes to show everyone how exactly Zynga looks upon millions of players of their game. What were their main reasons for developing a game that millions have enjoyed and change their concepts that are driving millions away for ALL their games. For those that have even sat down at a table with Zynga thinking you were forming a partnership, how does it feel to be betrayed and back stab... Every positive and good thing Spockholm, MW Addon, and PS Playerscripts ever did to help promote the game for the players are being voided by Zynga displaying they really do not care about the player just a profit line they think they will get from promoting their games....

ReplyDeleteDamn! It was too good to last. Next they are going to "nerf" gift blaster. I don't understand why they just don't let us use it. I get so many worthless gifts like aquarium....I've been finished with that for over a year. Why the f*** do I still need that. I send to people that need it, but damn, I don't. I need other items. They get on us for using scripts...but that makes the game tolerable. With all their gifting limits and time limit games, it is not fun. I really LOVED the gift collector. Such a shame for the SPOCKHOLM team to do so much only to have it taken away.

honestly they are hurting themselves more than us, you can only hit the dog so many times before he bites back and players are really going to call it quits soon, this game is just getting rediculous. whatever their story is about a level playing field is gone way down the drain. nothing is level about this game, whether your account is injected, you whine and get free RP, pay for RP, get loot from zynga, glitches and the list goes on and on. give us a break and sort out your gifting nonsense zynga

I am a person of means and have spent thousands on MW over the last 3 years. I am no longer inclined to spend another dime. I am saddened that Zynga has chosen so poorly. People like me who used to enjoy the game are pissed off and refuse to support their organization any more. I have decided that I am done. I have better things to do with my time and money now.
