Adding Mafia Wars Posts To Facebook Timeline

Share:

According to Facebook, "Timeline is your collections of the photos, posts and experiences that help tell your story". Timeline was made available to all Facebook users on December 15th. To Mafia Wars players, it has proven to be a pain in the ass. Nobody likes change. For now Timeline is optional and there hasn't been anything official from Facebook to indicated whether or not it will be mandatory.  To learn all the details about Timeline, go to the Facebook Help Center Timeline Page.

If you like what you see and want to sign up for Timeline, go here. Look for the "Get Timeline" button located in the bottom right corner of the page. Once you upgrade, you’ll have 7 days to preview your timeline before other people can see it. After 7 days, your timeline will be published automatically. If you don't sign up for it, you don't have to worry about it unless Facebook makes it mandatory and converts all profile pages.
There is a video to get you pumped up for Timeline but I plan on waiting until it's forced upon us.

Once you convert your profile page to the Timeline format, you can take a tour and all the changes will be explained.
Players who signed up for Timeline quickly learned that their Mafia Wars requests were not showing up on their walls or the news feeds. If you have this problem, you need to allow Mafia Wars on your Timeline. To do this, locate the "Activity Log" button and click on it. It is located towards the upper right of your profile page.
Look for a Mafia Wars post and click on the little circle. Here you will have options for various types of posts.
Select "Allowed on Timeline" and all your Mafia Wars requests will show up in the news feeds again. It seems we are constantly dealing with Facebook changes that prevent our requests from showing up in the news feeds. It is in Zynga's best interests to make sure their players know how to navigate around the platform their game is played on. If they don't, much of the spam forced upon us will be wasted.

  6. the problem is they are grouping posts from several weeks in one scrollable post. they are on most peoples timelines, they just doen't look close enough to find them. my friend thought her's weren't posting when i found the grouping on her wall for her. that is why they say to clear out all your old posts b4 u start timeline. this site might help. http://facecrooks.com/Internet-Safety-Privacy/6-things-you-need-to-do-right-now-to-prepare-for-the-new-facebook-timeline.html

  7. I have found selecting " feature on timeline " makes the post more prominent and easily found.

  8. Unfortunately, just selecting "allow on timeline" doesn't fix the problem - as a previous poster said, the most most recent 100 posts are grouped and sorted on the timeline to the time of the oldest of those 100 posts.

While "Feature on Timeline" is an option, there's no way to make it a default - it can only be done after a message is posted.

The easiest way I've found thus far is to add text to the "Say something about this" box when posting. I've been successful using a little as a period to prevent the posts from being grouped. However, this also does require removal of the "Post to Facebook as me" permission from Mafia Wars so that you can see and add text to the post before it's posted.

  9. You can also make Mafia Wars posts available only to your mafia, if you were smart and categorized everyone.

  10. I have tried above to have my posts showed on timeline by clicking allow on timeline but it does not work! Nothing that I do helps me to get my mafia wars post to appear on my wall! Anyone else have this problem?

  11. @t-dawg ) I have all my MW players in a category (or list) and i have granted permission to see all post, unfortunately they don't show up and the only way form me to appear is featuring them as well. I will try by removing "post to facebook" option.

    1. In the latest version of MWs Addon v0.7.80 There is Wall Cleaner, it works well and has a "remove all visible" button and a pop up calendar to set the date to remove up to.
