The Sports Bar

The Sports Bar has been added to your New York Buildable properties. You can find it right on your Build My Empire Module or on your New York Property Page to the right of your Private Zoo.

The concept is simple but the delivery sucks. Collect enough building parts and you can upgrade to the next level. The help mark doesn't provide a whole lot of insight. It also fails to mention that all of the items suck as far as stats are concerned.

An interesting addition was added to the bottom of the New York Property Page. You can see that there are twp more properties to come and we will get to choose a total of 5 to be active at any time. This means we won't be able to craft 7 properties a day even if we fully upgrade them. You will also notice that they changed the nomenclature from Buildable Properties to Constructed Properties.

The help mark here doesn't provide much insight as well because it's the same one from above. I think they should explain it a little better. It won't come into play until the next property is unlocked.

To get started, click on the "Build" or "View to Build" buttons. You will see there are 3 new building parts. You start at level 0 and you are told how many of each part are needed to get to the next level.

Until you upgrade your Sports Bar for the first time, all the buildable items are locked but you can see what they are.

Here are how many of each item you will need to fully upgrade your Sports Bar to Level 10 and what item unlocks at each level.

Now on to the fun part. There are only two ways to get the builable parts. They don't drop while doing fights, jobs or robs. They aren't in your inventory so you can't put them on your wishlist and they aren't on the Free Gift Page. Unless you are short on Animal Feed, don't bother opening Mystery Shipments because you won't find them there. The only ways to get them are thorough begging or using Reward Points. Spam and money are Zynga's two favorite things so I'm sure they are just loving this feature.

This beauty that my Family worked very hard to get is still worthless. Hopefully they don't nerf the propery upgrade system for Chicago like they did here.

Say hello to what your news feeds are going to look like for the next week. These things are plastered everywhere because we have no choice.

You can ask your mafia members to send you upgrade parts by clicking on the "Ask" button from the Home Page Module. You will be sent whatever part the game selects if you use this option.

You will be sent whatever part the game selects if you when you mafia members click on "Send Parts". You will notice the post just says "Jennifer needs more parts". You can ask here every 8 hours and you should get get 5 parts.

You can ask for specific parts from the Upgrade Page. Click on the "Ask For More" button on whatever part you want. You can only choose one and may ask every 8 hours and you should get 3 parts.

These posts will list the part you requested and you will get that part when your mafia members click on "Send Parts".

Unfortunately, you will get more errors then successful sends while trying to help your mafia members. You get no items for helping.

You are also limited on how many times you can help your mafia members a day. Zynga is being generous and allowing us to send 5 parts a day. The problem with this is between the errors and the caps you will have a hard time getting 5 parts from your mafia.

You can also collect 3 parts by searching your news feeds for upgrade bragging posts. When you click on "Get Parts", you should get a part. In theory, you should be able to collect 3 parts. In actuality, you get more errors than not.

When you successfully click on the posts above, it will say "You gave your friend: whatever item it chose". There is an error here because you actually get the part and your friend doesn't.

You are limited to collecting 3 parts per day so there is no need to run the Stram Scanner unless you don't want to be bothered with all the errors.

There is also a cap on how many parts can be collected from each feed.

Just to make sure nobody gets an extra part in error, the feeds will also expire.

Zynga is probably hoping you won't want to deal with all the bullshit shown above and they offer building parts for 2 Reward Points each. You can buy the individually or enough for your next upgrade. I didn't see an option in the Marketplace.

Once you painfully collect enough building parts to upgrade, click on the green "Upgrade" button from your Home Page Module or the Upgrade Page.

You can also click on the "Upgrade" button from the New York Property Page but that will take you to the Upgrade Page.

Each time you make an upgrade, the item that unlocks will be displayed and you can generate your news feed post described above by clicking on the "Share" button.

Let's back this up a bit. If you read the popup carefully, you will see that it says "You can build up to 5 items a day.". The higher level items have skill points attached to them so this sounds like a pretty good deal.

I clicked on the "Build" button to craft my item and noticed there was a 8 hour timer between crafts. The last time I checked there were 24 hours in a day so according to time and logic, I should be able to craft 3 items per day not 5.

I thought maybe the higher the level the lower the timer would be.  I tried again once I got to Level 10 but the same 8 hour timer was there. Using Reward Points to rush your upgrading is not a good strategy if you were hoping to be able to craft 5 times a day.

If you study the chart shown above you will see that items 7-10 offer the exact same number of skill points. All of this loot sucks so there is no need to upgrade to level 10 as it will only give you the ability to build a less crappy item. It's the skills you want.

There is a Customer Support FAQ on this new feature but it doesn't address feed limits. Hopefully Zynga will post something that will tell us the limits for each type of feed post. The ones I listed were determined through testing multiple accounts but it's hard to say if they are accurate due to all the errors. They really need to fix the issues many players are having. If you are unable to request parts, you are clearly at a disadvantage. They say we have a week to upgrade but in actuality we were given about 6 days and 17 hours. Every hour will count so I don't appreciate being shorted.

This on top of everything else is really just too much to deal with. I curse the person who convinced me to ever get a Facebook account and double curse the one who talked me into playing Mafia Wars (Prince, I still love you). I know exactly how Stan feels.
