Mission Timer Mishap

UPDATE #2: Now the post is back but worded a little differently. Players will now get the mastery item if they reached the last two parts rather than the parts being auto-checked.

We regret to announce that, due to necessary server maintenance, Mission Event: Out Of Time ended earlier than originally planned. Instead of 3pm PDT on 9/13, the Mission Event ended at 4pm PDT today, 9/12. As consolation, we will be awarding the mastery item to those of you who managed to reach the last two quests in the event. An in-game message will notify you when this happens.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your game play.

UPDATE: The blog posted referenced has been removed from the Official Mafia Wars Blog. I don't think there ever was an issue with the timer. Here is a screen shot of the removed blog post (thanks to Kev Ger).

The Official Mafia Wars Blog explains that the Out of Time Mission will end today and not tomorrow as they think it was originally suppose to.

We regret to announce that, due to necessary server maintenance, Mission Event: Out Of Time will be ending earlier than originally planned. Instead of 3pm PDT on 9/13, the Mission Event will end at 4pm PDT today, 9/12. As consolation, we will be auto-completing the last two quests in the event. So, if you haven't gotten past the Firearm Filibuster quest in the event, now's your chance to do so and have that quest's completion reward(s) waiting for you to collect the next time you log in.

We were told several times that the Mission would end when Cuba shuts down. The following image was posted on Sept 5th shortly after the Out of Time Mission was implemented (1). According to this timer, the Mission was "Right On Time" so I'm confused as to what the blog post above is all about.

It appears at some point over the last 7 days, an extra day was added to the timer. I completed the Mission right away so I've been following the Cuba timer which is set to shut down in a little under an hour.

The Mission timer is in sync and I'm not sure when that extra day was added or removed. You have less than an hour and thanks to Zynga, the last two parts will be auto-checked so there is time to finish it.
