These Ice Seasons are about as exciting as a wet rag but Ice Season: 09 mixes it up a little. The first thing you will notice is the time is 14 days instead of 7 days. Keep in mind you need 1,050 ices a week anyways for Family Progression so this doesn't really change anything.
Collect your loot item and badge from Ice Season: 08 as normal.
The next thing you will notice is you need 1,500 ices instead of 1,000 to get the highest rewards.
The milestone rewards are the same, you just need more ices to get them.
To sum it all up, you will need to do the same amount of work because of Family Progression to get 1/2 the rewards as you normally would. This is a nerf. There will also be a lot more Diamond 5 badges so yours, if you have one, won't be as special. I ran an Inventory History and there haven't been any Ice Season loot items added. They have 2 weeks now and so do you.

Nerf or not is hard to say but since I don't have any stamina or power packs I have stalled at diamond 4 every week so I am happy about this change.
ReplyDeleteI like the change, at least for this week...getting 1000 ices this week was a pain in the (ASS) since one wanted to concentrate of farming cuba loot which is vastly superior to anything else...now I can concentrate on cuba alone for the next week and burn staamina quickly in vegas fight jobs instead of waiting for assassinator/manual fighting...
ReplyDeleteThis is a terrible change. I know some people don't like the ice seasons, but I always thought it was a great bonus. Instead of making it easier and giving people less of a reward in the process, they should make the ice seasons such that you can earn more than 1 of each item. Go back to 1000 ices == top item but allow people to do it multiple times. Then a 2 week or even month long ice season becomes interesting. If you can get 3000 or 4000 ices in that time period, why not be rewarded with more items?

ReplyDeleteThe Raven.
Jenny since you got (bought with RP) "Requiescat in Pace Decimus" achievement you're not bitchin about the Raven any more.
Most of us still haven't achieve it and I haven't seen him for quite a long now.
Won't you start another "Where the hell is Raven" campaign?
@anonymous above, if you followed this blog you would see that has already been done.

We got an answer from Zynga and it's obvious they don't know how to have 2 boss fights at the same time. They made the family boss priority and I imagine the Raven will be put on hold until they can figure out how to code for both. I earned it fair and square, I waited and beat him 10 times. I purchased Ammo because I had a feeling something like this would happen and I didn't want to be left without the achievement when it did I would say it was a pretty smart investment. I still care about the players who didn't and pushed the issue to get an answer. If you listened to the podcast we also have discussed this more than once. Not much more we can do.
crud - now instead of waiting 3 or 4 days inbetween finishing and collecting I can wait 10 days to collect. I would rather they either finish the ice seasons this week or make them better -- this is not better
ReplyDeleteRe Ice Season
ReplyDeleteI completed the recent Mission after the new Ice season started so to complete it I had to register 15 ices, no problem completed it.
When I checked my ice count in the ice event it had only registered 13 of them so potentially if I achieve 1500 ices in the new season my ice counter would only register 1300
Did anyone else notice this problem?
Nothing that can be bought should be considered an achievement, including the ices.
