Zynga has address the Family Progression problem issue that I posted about yesterday (1). I love how they say it has affected a "limited number of players". They must be talking about all the people who actually still play the game. Almost everyone I know with a Daily Timer (including me) has been affected. The good news is they claim that our progress will be restored. The bad news is "the development team is working on finding a resolution". I'm not very hopeful that it will return in time for the reset.
Here is a reprint of the Customer Support page dealing with this issue. Click the title link to check for updates.
Lost Family Progression Progress on 8/22/11
Updated 08/23/2011 at 17:06
Lost Progress for the Family Progression On 08/22/11 a limited number of players lost their progress for the Family Progression feature. The development team is aware of this incident and have been working on finding a resolution. Players who have lost progress will have their progress restored or will be compensated for their efforts. This issue affected only a limited number of players and the development team has been able to track and identify each account. Currently this issue is still being investigated and the resolution will be determined when the review has been completed. When the cause of this issue has been determined any restoration or compensation will be automatically added to the affected players accounts. We understand that you may be frustrated at your lost progress, and apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused. Our development team is working diligently to correct the issue, and we appreciate your patience while we work at resolving the matter. Thank you, The Mafia Wars Team |

I (actually my clan) have not been affected, but we're on weekly counter (which I actually prefer A LOT against daily counters). So no, it's not everyone that has been affected.
ReplyDeleteSo be fair with Zynga at least once and please stop trying to be the most aggressive and cynical voice on the planet, this is really getting on my (and a couple of other reader's) nerves....
"be fair with zynga" lmao. If the crew here didn't put it up zynga constantly we would have a much worse game than it already is. Maybe just lay off posting about exploits and glitches ;p
ReplyDeletemost of the members of my redtag wolfpack were affected, but to be honest I dont hold my breath waiting for zynga to do anything about it and really it was just 1 day that was affected , basically a drop in the bucket if you will so hopefully as long as it does not happen again , eegh no biggie
ReplyDelete@fex - GMAFB w/ the personal comments against Jen in this blog. So you love the weekly timer, good for you and I'm glad you like the feature you were given.
ReplyDeleteI have a daily timer and love it as it allows for moderate experience gain. It works quite well when I need that extra little bit to level, and I hope they never take it away.
You will notice that Zynga was quick to issue a statement and compensation for the daily timer users, however after 2 or 3 weekly timer FUBARs they did and said nothing about it. Way to go for a 'limited' number of players.

Everyone not affected by this, of course...the weekly timer players (including me) are just affected because they can't figure out how to make it end on time. So everyone gets screwed in some fashion or another...fairness in the Zynga world. If they would just take a few days and fix the problems in things they introduce before rolling out more broken stuff (they did well for awhile), people wouldn't need to be cynical. And I can be WAY more cynical than Loot Lady so she can't be the most cynical voice on the planet.
ReplyDeleteWell then learn to read. She very clearly stated this was about daily timers. Of THOSE, MOST were affected. Which means we lost a day and even more to those who use the weekly timer.
ReplyDeleteand families could start to lose actual members as well. This glitch was CREATED by ZYNGA trying yet again to push in a half baked feature that was obviously not well tested. Testing BTW is done on a test system, not with the actual production server and users.
ReplyDeleteKeep doing what you do Jen, ZYNGA needs to hear it
I prefer the shorter timers. They make it much easier to keep playing without having to waste half a pack.
ReplyDeletePeople keep going on about how the daily timer users have lost a day to us weekly timer users... boo hoo, what about all the time at the end of the week where our timer doesn't reset? We lose 2 days each week; stop complaining!
