About a week ago, players started to have problems getting into Customer Support Live Chat (1). The links that players were using to connect no longer worked. I've done some investigating and found out that the links were broke on purpose and they were considered an exploit. Live Chat should only be available when you see the Live Chat icon on the Customer Support Page. Many have created new links and I've even seen a few scripts written to help one "get in". When they work it's most likely coincidence.
If you see this then that means "No Chat For You!". I should point out that the Email feature is effective, it just takes longer.
The only thing official I found came from a forum post on the FarmVille forums (1). It's been said that Live Chat has always been for customers who spend money on Reward Points and that you only need to have made one purchase in your Mafia Wars game playing career.

Hey guys, Thought I'd chime in since live chat support has been a hot topic for the last couple days. In order to get live chat, you do need to be a paid player. You don't need to spend a $100 per month to get live chat though--that is just a rumor. You are entitled to live chat support if you have paid for FC in your lifetime, but please keep in mind that this CS feature may not be available due to high volume.

The live chat has not worked for me in over a month, and I spend on more then one game so spending doesnt help. It quit working and they dont know when if ever it will be fixed and the email doesnt work as well, sorry but that isnt true. First off I can prove, since I save all the emails, that they have a standard response letter that they send, then if you question them further, your moved to another rep that starts all over with the same standard response. Often they dont even read your problem and respond incorrectly about what you said was your issue. On top of that several of my emails have *mass email message* on them which tells me that I as a person dont matter. Its all a standard reply. Sorry if I disagree but I have been dealing strictly through emails for over a month and I can show you a email that has seven different reps on it and the first response each of them give me is word for word what the previous rep gave me the first time.
ReplyDeleteleslie i agree, i actually emailed them and asked if they read this email my problem is solved. never put an issue in it, i got the same standard response as when i send my issue to them
ReplyDeleteyes, spending does not help. I can confirm this. I do also confirm that they do not read what you wrote and your issue stays not corrected even it is severe. If you still ask to correct as it is possible to play, then your beggings are just forwarded to different people whom you are explaining this your bug over and over - this process never ends. It simply lasts untill you give up.
ReplyDeleteFor me it looks like that: should something is broken on your account and you is a paying costomer - you will not get chat help..you will be in a email correspondence untill you will give up...
I can concur with everything already stated as I have been going for over a month getting the same response from different "Customer Advocates". Previously submitted issues where handled quite well. Seems it has gone down hill within past 6 months. I just received a different reply stating they were going to look deeper into the issue, (we'll see). My response on a daily basis is to respond to each and every one of their replies with a cut/paste copy of my original e-mail along with ALL their replies. Not only does this get their attention but it shows the passing around of the problem. Usually within the first week I get my issue kicked up to the "right" people (programmers). As for if you are a spending player, it does help, but only if you are spending $3,000+ a month.
