I've written about this in the past but the question keeps coming up so I'll address it one more time. Zynga, in their infinite wisdom, decided that you can only share our Gold Promotion bonuses with people who don't play Mafia Wars. It's not a big deal when you get a piece of crap as shown below. When you get +3 Attack or Defense points, it would suck to share with someone who is obviously not interested.
There is a way to share these bonuses with your friends who actually play the game. Anytime you get a regular promotion, there is an option to generate a news feed post to share your promotion bonus. It's easy, just click the "Share" button. Since only the first 3 to click will get the bonus and you are limited to collecting 3 a day, it's best to write what your bonus is to allow for more selective clicking by your mafia.
When you get to your Golden Promotion which will be every one ending in 5 or 0, just close it out.
Don't waste time trying to share it with a dude who stopped playing Mafia Wars a long time ago. In fact, I use the list Zynga provides and I remove everyone on it. These people do not play Mafia Wars and I don't need them in my mafia or as Facebook friends. You would think that the search bar would help you find your favorite mafia members but it doesn't work. It will only find the people who were designated to be on your share list.
Now go to one of your old Promotion Bonus posts and right click on the blue link that says you got promoted.
Select "Copy link address".
Go to any url shortening service and paste the link. I used tinyurl.com in the example below.
Paste the short url to your wall, your favorite groups wall or share it privately with three of your friends. The first three to click on it will get the item indicated in your Golden Promotion popup.

Unless they have changed it not everyone in that share list has stopped play.. just most of them. If you remove everyone in the share list from your mafia you will remove a few active players.
ReplyDeleteBit.ly has a firefox extension that allows you to right-click and choose "shorten URL" and it copies your new Bit.ly shortened URL to your clipboard. Use it all the time to share feeds with my family before unleashing them to my mafia.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to share the Bonus to any 3 friends, don't post the bonus. just tell them to go to your wall and click on any previous level up bonus posted. They will get the bonus. The bonus must be collected before you level up again.

been doing what Jose suggests for over a month - works great and only the people I want can get extra ATT/DEF (1 or 2 at a time).
