Episode 67: Behind Enemy Lines

Share:

The latest episode of the Informant Podcast is one you won't want to miss because Pistol Pete talks about his recent visit to Zynga Headquarters in San Francisco. He was able to sit down with a room full of developers and show them how he uses the Spockholm Mafia Tools scripts to help him play Mafia Wars. He tells some pretty funny stories about the experience. We can only hope that Zynga took the blue pill, saw the light and will eventually approve script use.
Pistol Pete was also able to play with new fight module coming soon. This should answer the question that everybody has been asking about since the Put 'Em On Ice Event was released.
Although the description states that we talked about the recent attacks on me from certain members of the community, there wasn't a lot of time to go into detail. A group that has several members who hate me has started a forum thread in my honor. There are a total of  11 middle shots, to include one of Jesus! Personally I liked the one of the cat the best. But really? Is one girl who writes a blog such a threat?
The person who started the thread mentioned above most likely did so in hopes that I would post about it as he seems to want some attention. He's practically begging for it. One middle finger would have been sufficient. To make sure he got noticed got jiggy with the middle finger images. I'll grant his wish, go here and read the thread for yourself to ensure you don't take the images or the comment below out of context.
I started getting attacked on my own blog as well. Comments like the one below go a little too far. It just seems ridiculous that people would care so much. If they don't like what or how I write, why do they keep visiting? The comment below had to be removed because it contained a racial slur. People try to report my site all the time and recently they were successful when my link was banned by Facebook because of it. Fortunately I had plenty of documentation from people posting about their intent to report and the ban was lifted. All the haters need to stop and people who don't like me should just ignore me.

To listen now, click play.

Pistol Pete is invited into Zynga Headquarters to show off his style of game play. He felt that he got to enlighten some of those invited to the meeting on the positive aspects of the Spockholm Mafia Tools. The SFO Meet and Greet was a bust. Maybe next time. Jen covers several of the new events, and the degree of criticism she receives from the community. Jana and Pete debate a little on the benefits of Zynga allowing anyone to be attacked from their profile page. While we finish up with a Rant about the Boss Rossi Fight and the woes that come with it.

  2. You reap what you sew Jennifer. You decided to falsely accuse one of our clan of something in a previous blog post. Did you really expect us as a clan to sit back and do nothing about it?

That said, out of all our pictures, I do find it hilarious that you took offence to mine more than any of the others. I fell honoured, really I do.

I would however, before I leave like to point out the disgusting and tasteless comment some mindless fool posted that you re-posted, albeit edited is nothing to do with our clan.

We can express our umbrage a bit more eloquently than how that individual did.

See you on the fight list somewhere. :)

  3. I think hate is a little strong to be honest, disappointed probably fits the bill a little better. While I understand that a blog is a personal opinion forum the way you took Merbeast's comments out of context then posted his link on a popular blog that is actually allowed to be linked on the MW forums was unacceptable and juvenile.

Your response on our forums was "it was a joke"? No that was back peddling. You got called out for doing two things that were below your position of supposedly being a voice for the mafia wars players and you used that position to essentially call to arms the majority of MW players against someone else.

Had you been mature and apologized for what you'd done, and YES it deserved an apology you would have realized that we can actually be a forgiving bunch. Making excuses and not standing up to take the heat for a mistake however is something none of us appreciate.

PS. I am as sure as anyone can be that the ignorant post you linked above was not one of our members, I'd appreciate it if you have the IP address if you'd forward it to me, I'd also appreciate you not trying to make that and the incident on our forums seem linked, as I very much doubt they are.

  4. I dont have much to add as Calder and Doom Desire has said it all already. But I still have peeve though.
You still dont seem to have learned what "context" really means. When you posted about Merbeast you did not consider the whole situation and pretty posted what you WANTED to show, missed the context then. Now too you missed that detail. Did you forget why you had to see what you see?

But seriously who ever said that slur sure says a lot about his upbringing. It was about time you considerred some moderation.

    ^^^^^ This.
Made me laugh. Who said you were a threat. LOL.

  5. You really are an attention whore aren't you? My name is Angelo Bruno and I POSTED THAT THREAD. To wit, I posted my reason for doing so, in that thread, which you so conveniently omitted. So, I will post the reason for it here..."Just thought I would let her know what I thought about her latest blog entries." These blog entries I refer to are the posting of FrankyC's profile link, the out of context posting of Merbeast's single post in the Zforum and the smearing of our clan while trying to make your case.

Prior to your latest actions, especially the one in which you tried to tie ZCFU in whole to what you misquoted, I had no real opinion of you one way or the other.

The thread I posted was entitled "Hey MWLootLady" ...that was to get your attention the next time you came trolling our forum looking for misquotes and "evidence" to support your lies.

  8. I do believe that whoever starts a blog and runs a blog is allowed to post absolutely anything they wish as long as it does not violate TOS of the company the blog is held.

I wander in to check out what's going on with Mafia wars. The rest is pure entertainment to go with my game play :o) -Lonnie

  11. you can take it from your feedsMay 31, 2011 at 3:34 PM

    hey zcfu;
you ll see me the next few days in your feeds; enjoy it and have fun! groovy cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  12. First, wonderful job on the Loot Lady.

Second, can anyone at ZCfu spell? Descent or decent...reap what you sew or sow...too funny.

I find it very odd how people bash this blog because the only way to dislike it is to read it. It is like those who bash Rush Limbaugh. He can only offend you if you listen to him. And yet one or two posters bashed you and still admitted using your resource. Somebody wants to eat their cake and have it to.

Which leads me to another point...blogs are for the author's personal opinion which includes observations about other people and their behavior. So be it. The suggestion that it was "over the line" is laughable.

My greatest surprise in reading this thread was how clear it was that the clan feels offended. While they avoided the nasty words of the shared email, they still were saying the same thing, "You hurt our feelings." Hard to fathom this from a clan whose name is ZCfu (assuming I know what the final two letters mean).

The respondents in this thread tried to take a moral high ground by suggesting some people had a questionable upbringing. Well, I'm guessing none of their moms really would really be proud of their children in a clan named "fu".

Anyway, just wanted you to know that your blog is my daily guidebook. I look forward to your use of YOUR blog to set this childish clan straight!

  13. lol another misinformed person....

Z (Zynga) C (Community F (Forums) U (Unleashed).... take a look at the url. The FU is a coincidence of the name as it progressed, it wasn't intentional although it is sorta funny.

A blog writer may of course post anything they like, that is the nature of blogs. To say that they can do so with impunity and not expect people to disagree is naive.

The loot lady has a powerful presence in the MW world and she abused the presence and still refuses to apologize or give in to the fact that she took something out of context.

As to the one that said we would see him in our feeds... yeah ummm a name would have made that statement a little more impressive... oh wait... I don't look at my feed. Nvm carry on ;-)

It is a game as another poster mentioned, one we're all supposed to enjoy. Being called out by a major blog, one that Zynga themselves endorses, having your link published all for something that was taken out of context doesn't sound like fun. Merbeast wanted nothing more than the statement put in the context it was written, apparently that was too much to ask.

    {ZCFU} Don Calder
You are more than welcome to search me on FB and take your best shot, I'm not a big hitter but unlike many that post here I am not hiding either.

  14. Why would moms be ashamed of the name Zynga Communtiy Forums Unleashed AKA ZCFU?????

    ReplyDelete
  15. In response to the above poster, NO! ZCFU does not mean the ZCFU that you think.

ZCFU Stands for Zynga Community Forum UNLEASHED. Means it's a place to hang out AWAY from the TOS and regulations of the official Zynga Forum.

And what got us into this was Jennifer posting people's links. Is that allowed by zynga's TOS?
How would ANY of the readers like it, if your link got posted and you get attacked 24/7 ?

Isn't that practically what a bully does? Merbeast did not attack anyone. He made some comments on the official blog. MOST people are free to voice their opinion THERE.

DOES this make what she did correct?

  16. No, the 'FU' doesn't mean what you think it does. Why not swing by the forum, you may be enlightened on far more than our acronym :)

I'd also like to point out that several members of ZCFU don't have English as a primary (and sometimes not even as a second or third) language, so hopefully you can forgive one or two errors in spelling.

  17. Obviously I have no time to respond to all these comments and Angelo is more than welcome to re-post his comment that contained the word wh!re and I will post it. I do need to laugh at this. My blog is the same thing and I'm free to post whatever I like. It's not my fault a lot of people read my blog. It was better and easier for me when they didn't. Your site is public as well so what makes it so different that you can call people names and say horrible things. I do reference everything I post so people can get the real story. Please stop reading if you don't like it. How simple is that? I don't need or want you as readers anyways. I hear Franky's got a new blog or you can go to Angelos Fan Page. I would prefer the readership be spread out over the community and not just to my blog. Most copy everything I do anyways so why not have a few more to go visit. Just wait an hour or two and the information will be there without a reference.

"ZCFU Stands for Zynga Community Forum UNLEASHED. Means it's a place to hang out AWAY from the TOS and regulations of the official Zynga Forum."

If that's not a double standard I don't know what is.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well clearly, being a member of ZCFU makes me persona non grata, and I'm not one to outstay my welcome so I'll leave my post count here in single figures. Thanks for the hospitality though - its been a short but informative stay.

I think I'll continue to get my MW information somewhere that everyone is welcome - whatever their opinion or alliances.
