Three days ago, I made a post and pointed out how much junk we get from Mystery Bags and the Mystery Bag Collection was useless
(1). Maybe Zynga heard my cry. Mystery Bags got a new name and a new look. The bad news is Blue Mystery Bags (the old ones were blue as well) contain a lot of junk.
Find them on your Free Gift page.
These new Blue Mystery Bag look and work the same as the older Mystery Bags. You can still buy a new one for 1 Reward Point if you aren't satisfied.
There are some new and better items. You can see I got a Skill Point from my ZMC. You can also get Operation Collection items from Blue Mystery bags but when you open them they say "Your Bonus Payment contained XXXX" even though it was originally a Blue Mystery Bag. I verified this 3 times.
Here are the items I got from opening 21 of them using Bagman-Mugger. The new items I see are Armor and Car Parts, Brazil Real and a brand new collection item.
The new collection item is for the new collection called the Superhero Collection. Items for these will drop in Blue and Red Mystery bags. When you vault it, you get 20 Skill Points. Items are giftable so this one shouldn't be very hard to vault. What do Superheros and Comic Books have to do with Mafia Wars? Eventually they will run out of non-Mafia Wars related material and have no choice but to use something that is actually in the mafia.
Find the Superhero Collection in your Inventory Section under the Collection & Vault tab. It is located on the Special Collection Page.
Red Mystery Bags drop while doing jobs and then you can share them with your mafia. There is a new pop-up to go with the new collection.
The Red Mystery Bags got a make over but the name is still the same.
Also look for the new ad for Mystery Bags and the Superhero Collection on your Home Page.

I didn't get any collection items after opening 20 Red Mystery Bags. It's probably best to stick with the Blue ones since they have Reward Points, Skill Points and items on your wishlist.
You can also get Superhero Collection items from Day #5 of the Daily Take. Hopefully those who haven't vaulted the Precious Goods Collection will get gems instead but with 2 un-vaulted collections your odd for getting gems exclusively will decrease. Try to get this collection vaulted before opening up day #5 if you want to make sure you get a gem.

ReplyDelete@anonymous #3, it was a Blue Mystery Bag when I opened it but all Operation Collection items will say it was a Bonus Payment after it's open even though it wasn't.
ReplyDeletebonus payment does seem to have almost all the same stuff as bags now though,some loot different but i get alot of the liquid courage and crap too from them,also bags its just chance u take,if u open them fast chances are u will keep getting the same item,all crap,open slower,seems to help,not a lot but faster seems to give 3,4,5,6 ect in a row of same 1s

ReplyDeletehave found 6 armor parts,vairies in # of parts ,tiger tank,new collection items,reward pt,skill pt,and same old boosts so far,also a black widow,old loot worth 50 or so i think,meant 2 put on last post sorry

ReplyDeleteI noticed while opening Blue Mysterybags you can be awarded 'Nothing' I guess giving us useless gifts was not insult enough. I posted a picture on the fan page.
ReplyDeleteIts seems that we can get an energy boost similar to stamina boost while opening mystery bags. I got one today while opening red mystery bag.

ReplyDeletealso noticed today with the change of the energy packs, my 24hr timer daily reset has changed to local time ... (local time: used to be @ 8am and now it is 12am)
Won Supermanb and Freakman from blue bags and old gifts like cd spindles but it doesn't show up on the collection page.

we need to open more RED bags, because 4 or 5 drop from these. BLUE bags can contain squirrel and superbman.
