By now, most of you should know that Zynga messed with the Fight Club. I must say this was one of the few features that the majority of players liked. The good news is that they added a bunch of new loot items and did away with the timers on the loot items you could purchase with your Victory Coins.
The old good loot had a 7 day timer on it and I never remembered to buy any of it. Now there are a lot of items we can buy and a new bookmarklet by Team Spockholm to make purchasing easier (see Ade's posts
(1),
(2)).
The bad news is they did away with the 3 energy refills that many players, especially fighters, relied on. They replaced these with one energy refill that costs 5 Reward Points to use.

This is probably one of the biggest nerfs we have seen in the game. I don't think it's a coincidence that this happened on the same day that Italy Regions 6-8 and new Fighting High End Loot was released. Did they think we wouldn't notice? It's like going to your Grandmothers house for apple pie and she serves you an apple instead. Why would Zynga piss off their players like this? I thought they were all about making their precious fighters happy.

ReplyDeleteThis will not affect serial levelers...as most dont use refills to level. If you need those (aside from once a blue moon), than you are not a serial leveler.
This will not affect newcomers...it takes a lot to get to level 20 fight mastery.
Forgive me starting any conspiracy theories, but i know a very large block of people will be affected by this. And i must ask.....why?

ReplyDeleteThe major nerf they are calling new levels are a joke. The required energy and money required will make doing anything very hard in the "new" levels. I thought finishing Bangkok was hard. With the energy required and the removal of the fairly easy energy upgrades is enough to make me seriously think about moving to a non-zynga game. Any suggestions?????

ReplyDeleteWhat a total farce, they supposedly listened when players complained about their "new fight tiers" the other day - but they've turn a deaf ear to all of the tens of thousand complaints that they've received today from their latest and greatest "nerf" {this word is too kind} They are sending a clear message that they only want fighting accounts who pay money to continue in this game.

D-I-V-O-R-C-E So long Mafia Wars this addiction ends now. I logged on tonight and no energy packs available in the fight club, just your crummy 5 reward point one and you can only get it every 17 hours. Heck in 17 hours time I could buy a plane ticket, fly to San Fran kick some serious Zynga Butt, fly back and find a new none Zynga game to play. Go luck Chuck you won't be getting any more of my bucks.
ReplyDeleteI agree all this does is free up my time from playing MW I love this game but its getting to be a chore with all the "special Events" one after another then they take away a good part of the game with the fight club energy refills I'll nevr understand why they continue to F with us when they are losing players daily.

ReplyDeleteAlso the 8 hour energy pack ties you to a time. You could use your energy pack, free fighters refil, & 2GF Fighters refil in a short space of time. Now you have to go on at 8am, 4pm and midnight to get three energy refils. Plus as newty28 says they have not rolled out the 8 hour pack to everyone. Just a few folks for trials. How come they can trial the energy pack to see how it works but they don't need to trial taking our fighters refils off us?

Ok rich kid with the parents unlimited Visa to buy energy packs - we confess the rest of us aren't hardcore fighter like you, so enjoy fighting yourself cause if things don't change there is going to be a chosen mass extinction of all the none paying players.

ReplyDeleteLike I just read on Facebook from one of my friends notes, Why are the heads of Mafia Wars Clans being so silent on this and not raising hell like they did about the fight tier and shark tank changes last week? Maybe because this affects mainly the fighters who are level 451-750 you know the ones who put almost all of their skill points to attack and defense and not so much so the higher level accounts in their clans. Just a thought to share but speak up and speak out clan Godfathers, Godmothers, and clan bosses - Zynga will listen if you guys and gals get involved.

Those of us fighters who participated in fighting and adding the bulk of skill points to attack and defense earned the right to use these two energy packs so that we could level. How cowardly to take them out on the same day that you put in the new Italy regions - either give them back or at least compensate the fighting accounts who have been harmed by your boneheaded move. Maybe give those accounts who actually used them one and one half the amount of max energy added to the total amount of max energy. So, my energy is like 1000 - you'd add 1500 to my energy to compensate me for the needless loss incurred.

ReplyDeleteI am Omega Wolf (Co-godfather) at BLACK[BW]WOLF clan. I just sent them an email on how less I and other members of my clan will play so much less than before. If our playing numbers go down, Zynga will lose much money. Then they will understand not to make serious changes without consulting with us.
