Mission Walkthrough

Share:

Yesterday I showed some examples of the new Missions.  There is a misconception that Missions are only available to players who have not mastered New York and/or Italy.  This is true for City Missions nut all players will be offered Contract Missions.  The first one will be waiting for you as soon as you get the Missions Drop Bar on your account.  You can't miss it.  It's a big white bar that is located above the main Mafia Wars tabs in your game. New Missions are assigned by in game characters once you accept the rewards from a completed Mission.  There seems to be no end to these Missions.  I've done about 7 and Mr.Simy0 said that there are 19 of them at this time.  They get a little more challenging as you progress through them and some can take days to complete.  If you don't want to wait to complete your objectives, you can always use Reward Points to get them done.  Here is an example of one of my Missions called Swing A Jury.  You can see it on the Mission Bar and just in case you don't know it's a new Mission, there is a big yellow flashing New Mission sign pointing at it.  You need to collect the rewards from the previous Mission before it appears.
Clicking on the Missions drop bar will open it up and you can review the objectives required to complete the Mission.
Helping in a War is easy enough.  I searched my news feed for a War Help request and helped my mafia member.
After this objective was completed, the Missions bar refreshed to the next one.  I needed to collect on my Dockyard 2 Times.  In this case, it's a good thing that I don't stay on top of collecting from my properties (who has time for that!) so collecting on it the first time was easy.  Notice that there is always a "Go Now" on the objectives.  Clicking this button will direct you to the location in the game needed to complete the task.  The unopened drop bar will always be visible so you can track your progress at a glance.
You see here that I can't collect on my Dockyard again for 8 hours.
To eliminate the wait time for any objective, there is always the option to use Reward Points to buy your way out of it.  In my this objective the cost was 10 Reward Points.  Since I was excited to move on to the next Mission, I went ahead and used this option.
Part 1 of my Mission was instantly completed.
I collected my rewards of L$20,000, 25 Victory Coins and 1,375 experience points and a new Mission was available.
The new Mission is still the Swing a Jury but it is the second part.  I see here that the rewards for this one are very lame but if I don't do it, I won't get anymore new Missions!
I now had to open up 6 Mystery Bags.  Because the Missions Bar is always present for player to track their progress, I learned that gifts which are converted to Mystery Bags (ie, old Cakes, Secret Drop overflow, etc) do NOT count towards this task. Only the Mystery Bags found in your Zynga Message Center of Facebook request page count towards the Mission objective.
Now another roadblock.  I need to Declare War on someone twice.  Since I also don't stay on top of Declaring Wars, I was able to do the first one right away.
Since we can only Declare War once every 16 hours, it was time to either wait or use Reward Points.  If I wasn't trying to post this, I would have waited.  I'd rather buy Skill Points with my Reward Points.
Once again, the Mission was immediately completed and I was able to collect my not so great rewards, and move on to the next one.
And here is my next Mission.  We also see a reappearance from Henry Lam who also presented me with my a previous Mission.  I'm also glad to see this Mission has better rewards than the last one.
What's interesting about this one is that a new loot item that I posted about in a previous article called a Backpack is required.(1).  I don't see it yet on the Free Gift page but there is an option to request it on the Mission Objective.  This is the first introduction of Spam to the Mission feature.
When my mafia members clicked on this post, the Backpacks were sent. The next objective seems too easy but if you're too lazy to travel to Bangkok, you can use Reward Points.
Once again I completed the objectives and collected my rewards.
Here's a look at my next Mission but that will have to wait until tomorrow. These Missions are really fun a very addicting.  I'm going to have to make myself stop spending Reward Points on them.  Good thing there is so much to do in Mafia Wars that I won't have time to focus or care so much about finishing these. If Zynga would give me a chance to get bored, I would buy a lot more Reward Points!

  3. I am having fun with them but wait in between instead of using RPs. Gives me a little something to look forward to later.
