GIFT PROTECTION royally messing up...

Did anyone expect things to go smoothly during the holidays with all the crap unleashed onto us lately?
I didn't think so... Could have been worse though I have to admit !

OK Here an EASY fix for the Gift Protection Requests not working !

FIRST an Explanation:
The source of the problem is the "automatic posting to wall" that was introduced during the Thanksgiving dinner, that suspicious box we had to agree with in order to post our requests to join our table without having to go through the Facebook "BlueBox" and confirm each one manually.

The whole problem lies there:
a glitch in the function/privileges added to your applications privacy in order to let the game post on walls automatically without your permission, resulting in an error message when the game attempts such a post.


FORTUNATELY There IS an easy fix !

Simply go to your FaceBook Privacy Setting (top right corner of your FaceBook page, see below):

Once on the Privacy settings page, Click on "Edit your settings" below "Apps and Websites", toward the bottom left (See below):

On the next page, in the section "Apps you use" you will see a short list of applications you are using, sorted with the most recently used on top.
If Mafia Wars is not visible in this list Click "Edit Settings" on the right side, it will show you the full list of Applications.
If it is visible you can click directly on the Mafia Wars App (See below):

When looking at details of the Privacy Settings for the Mafia Wars Game, you will see "UP TO" 4 privileges that are labeled "required", those cannot be changed here.

BUT: Below the "required" ones, in my example here is the culprit: "Post to Wall"... Simply click "REMOVE" and the problem is solved ! (See below - Note that this picture is a reconstruction, I lost my screenshot !):

DON'T WORRY ! THIS WILL NOT STOP THE REGULAR MAFIA WARS POSTS FROM TAKING PLACE
It will only prevent Mafia Wars from posting 'automatically" on walls WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION, which is at the root of the current problem.

Now you can go back to the Tree Mission Page, and send out your Gift Protection requests !

NOTE THAT FROM NOW ON YOU WILL HAVE TO CONFIRM EACH ONE YOU SEND, via the "traditional" Facebook Pop-up we see in all our posts.
