In July, we started getting Facebook Credits for free just for playing the various games on Facebook (1).
On September 1, USA Today announced in an article titled Target to sell Facebook Credits gift cards
that Facebook Credits gift cards would soon be coming to a Target store near you.
Recently I was at a Target store in Las Vegas, NV and found a whole bunch of Facebook gift cards. It looks like they expect to sell a lot of these.
I just had to have one so I could see how they work.
To redeem the card, get the code from the backside and log into your Facebook account.
Got to your Account drop bar and select Credits Balance and you will be directed to the Payments page.
Now click on "buy more".
The option to use the gift card is not visible right away. You need to click on "Change Payment Method" to see it. Facebook already has their money so why should they make it easy?
Click on "Redeem your gift card" and then continue.
Enter the number from the back of your card and click the "Redeem Now" button.
You will get a verification pop-up and your good to go.
To use your Facebook Credits to buy Reward Points, go to the Market Place and select the number of Reward Points that best correlates to your number of Facebook Credits.
If want to buy more Reward Points than your Facebook Credits will cover, you will be charged for the remaining number.
Once you click on the "Buy XXX Reward Points!" button, you'll get a verification pop-up and the Reward Points will be in your account.
A Mafia Wars Game Card will do the same thing and you get a loot item for your efforts. The benefit to using a Facebook gift card is the discounts that are offered by Zynga will apply. In the example above, I got 30% off and had some left over credits. Had I used a Mafia Wars game card, I would have paid the full price. I found it interesting that there were no longer any Mafia Wars game cards being sold at the Target store I was at. Facebook is really promoting Facebook Credits. In addition to getting them from playing Facebook games, using gift cards, or buying them directly from your account, there are several promotions offering them for free. AllFacebook.com has all the details about using Coinstar.

And the PayNearMe program at 7-Eleven is offering them to
