A Better User Experience

Share:

Today The Official Mafia Wars Blog made the following post titled "A Better User Experience".
"Our top priority at Mafia Wars is to listen to our users. And what you have been telling us is to fix stuff that’s broken in the game. This week’s dedicated to improving the game.
Our team has fixed a whole lot of bugs over the past 2 days. Some of these issues include fixing cross-promotional items that players weren’t receiving, replacing wonky error messages and stopping players from awarding themselves extra skill points when they complete jobs.
More than 20 million users play Mafia Wars each month. Our goal is to provide a better user experience for all our users. That’s a big task, and that’s why our entire team is working together to make it happen. Like you, we want to spend less time staring at a blinking revolver and more time playing the game.
Our work is far from over. And we will continue to spend the rest of the week to fix issues and update you on our progress. It’s time for us to get back to work. In the meantime, go play Mafia Wars!"

This is great news for the players and another piece of evidence that Zynga is listening to us and taking steps to improve communications.  I feel bad because just 4 days ago, I wrote an article titled The Official Mafia Wars Blog and made fun of their blog.  Could they have read this?  I doubt it but this is a good for all of us.  Since this is a great sign of improvements to come, I will refrain from making fun of their phrase "wonky error messages".

I also noticed that the first entry of the Game News Tab was made.  This is really cool because now we can just look this stuff up from our game without having to guess or search The Zynga Forum Boards.

  2. Holy WOW! They're going to spend a WHOLW WEEK fixing 3 YEARS worth of bugs. What happens at the end of the week and they aren't even close to fixing the bugs? Life as usual?

  3. Guess so... They always say what they are going to do... And then wait a couple of months and then try something, (It usually doesn't work) but we the addicts that we are keep coming back for more heartbreak and humiliation. Is that really the definition of a "dysfunctional Family"....YUP...I looked it up
