UPDATE: I have some smart readers! Within minutes of this posting, the question was answered. If you lose a fight, you get half of the job mastery that you would have if you won. Thanks for the comments.
Zokiboss noticed that there was a decimal point number after the mastery of doing the job "Open Fire On A Rival Outfit" in the Fighting Pathway of District 3, The Lower Strip. I couldn't check this out on my account because I have already mastered this job and all other fighting jobs. The Mafia Wars Wiki Page lists the progress for this job at different levels but it is for the energy pathway. Please comment if you have seen this on your account. Thank you for sharing Zokiboss.
if u win that fight it gives u 3 mastery point.if u lost it it gives u 1.5 mastery point :)
