Zynga Platinum Purchase Program

Share:

A while back I talked about the Zynga Platinum Purchase Program(1).  The following letter from Zynga outlined the requirements for participation.  If you are interested, you can contact Zynga at platinum@zynga.com , visit  customer support or call +18007622530.  Because Facebook now stores all banking information used to purchase game currencies this is another way to bypass that.  The only drawback is your purchase must be a minimum of $500.00.  Because this is all done using Bank Wire Transactions, your banking information will not be stored in your Facebook account.  Pimp Daddy, one of my mafia members did just that.  He agreed to document and share his experience with us.  Thanks Pimp Daddy!

Thank you for your interest in our new Platinum Purchase Program!

When you purchase under the Platinum Purchase Program you will receive a 20% discount on the best purchase price currently offered in game (promotional offers excluded.)
This program is currently only available for players of our Mafia Wars and Poker titles.

Platinum Purchasing eligibility requires a clean account and game play history and a $500 minimum purchase to participate.

Please note that we will be accepting bank wire transfers only. Electronic checks (ACH transfers), Western Union or any other money transfer services will not be accepted. Also, please note that if you are sending your wire internationally then in may take up to two days for your transfer to settle in our account. Once the transfer has settled we will grant your points within 3-5 business days.

If you are interested in participating in the Platinum Purchasing Program please respond to this email with your Social Network User ID (UID). We will then research your account to verify eligibility. If you are eligible for participation we will then provide you with further details.

Thanks for playing Zynga Games!

Pimp Daddy was tired of making multiple purchases because the limit through normal channels is $200 at a time (less if Reward Points are on sale).  He liked that you get a 20% discount for buying larger quantities and decided to give the Platinum Purchase Program a try.
Pimp Daddy wrote to customer support and asked them about the program.  He received the same response as above and proceeded with the process.

I'm interested in buying reward points in bulk for a discount. Heard that
might be possible.

He was eventually approved and got this notice from Zynga.

Hello Pimp Daddy,

Congratulations on your decision to participate in our Wire Transfer
Platinum Purchase Program.

As a participant in the Platinum Purchase Program, we are pleased to
extend to you an award rate of 7 points to the dollar. You will find that
this is a significant savings as the best package deal for points in game
is currently 5 points to the dollar.

In conjunction with a special rate that is currently being offered through
the Marketplace in Mafia Wars you will be receiving an additional 3 points
for your wire. It is important to note that this is a limited offer and
could expire at any moment. Additional or future wire transfers may not be
offered at this rate and are not guaranteed at this rate.

Please note that purchases made under this program are non-refundable and
subject to the terms listed below:

All wires must be bank to bank wire transfers. Electronic checks (ACH
transfers), Western Union or any other money transfer services will be
rejected. In the event that a wire is rejected any associated fees are
your responsibility.
All wire transfers are final, non-refundable and must be made in U.S.
Dollars. Any wire transfer fees and/or exchange fees are your
responsibility. In addition, you agree that any and all funds that are
received in amounts greater than the agreed upon transfer amount will
automatically be applied to the players account at the agreed upon point
per dollar rate.

There is a minimum purchase of $500 USD to participate.

Each wire transfer must contain a unique Zynga generated Wire Transfer ID
number (WID) which we will provide to you. Each WID may only be used once
and is non-transferable. WID's will expire 7 days after they have been
issued.

Wires received by Zynga containing an expired WID, a used WID or missing
its WID will be rejected and subject to any and all fees associated with
its rejection. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.

Points will be granted within 3-5 days of our receipt of a valid wire.

You must be at least 18 years of age.

If you wish to proceed with a Platinum Purchase please respond with the
following text:

"I agree to these Terms and the Zynga Terms of Service (listed below), I
wish to purchase X dollars in points.
I understand that in addition to the fees charged me by my bank to send a
wire transfer, intermediary banks through which my wire travels may also
incur fees against my wire that neither I nor Zynga can predict. In the
event that an intermediary bank charges a fee against my wire causing the
amount received by Zynga to be less than the above agreed upon amount, I
authorize Zynga to grant points on the total amount received. I also agree
that any amount received in an amount greater than what was agreed to will
be credited to my account at the set point per dollar rate.”

In addition to the above statements, please also include the City, State
and Country in which you reside so that we can send you the proper
instructions for your location. Once we have received this information, we
will send you further instructions on how to proceed.

Kind regards,
Jennifer B.

After going through all the hoops, Pimp Daddy finally got his Reward Points and agreed to share what he did with them.  Here is his account before the Reward Points were added.
BEFORE
He was kind of worried because it took a while but eventually all 5,000 Reward Points made it into his Mafia Wars account.  He was too excited to take the time to grab a screen shot but once he spent the first thousand he calmed down and sent me this image.
4,155 Reward Points
He used all but 600 and here is the final look of his character.
AFTER
He was kicking butt and taking people down all over town.  Eventually he got placed on the hitlist by one of his victims.
Pimp Daddy's Hitlist Ride
This all happened before all the negative game changes and this is what Pimp Daddy had to say about his experience with the Zynga Platinum Purchase Program.
For calling it Platinum, they sure have poor customer service. I sent an
email to them on Thursday asking if they got my transfer and if there were
any other benefits to the Platinum package.  They didn't include a response
to that question./Pimp Daddy
He also added his current views on future purchases and how he feels about Zynga making it difficult to purchase loot from third parties.
What is the incentive to high end players to keep playing if they can't do anything except stock pile stuff that is useless to them?

I've spent a ton of money on Reward Points to Zynga so that I could built weapons for the skill points. If I couldn't have bought the extra weapon parts, I would not have bought the Reward Points. I would not have done the $500 Platinum thing if I new I wasn't going to be able to get the weapon parts. I had to pay 14RP for 4SP. I just wont purchase like that again. No problem. No more money to Zynga.

Traders selling loot, makes Zynga money!

I have extra loot now and I donate it to a clan account to make sure that our members get stronger. It is a social game platform. I'm not going to give if I have to go to the persons wish list and click every 3 seconds to send 1 item. Where is the socializing in that? It's my loot, let me give it away, the way I want and to who I want.

It would lessen the load on the servers if I could send 500 or 1,000 or even more of an item with one click. Kind of like the power attack. Less traffic, better game play, no brainer!/Pimp Daddy

  3. I have 6,000 attack and defence points and weapons attack and defence are both above 130k.

I have not spent one cent.

    Go figure.

  4. Anonymous 6000 attack and defence points, you forgot to state you level for record

The guy who had wiped his $500 was level 646, that was 7 time the level

  5. Well I guess this is a useful lesson for him. Never waste money on this game. As for my level, prefer to keep that to myself, but not a million miles away from this guy.

  6. And for what it is worth, I have added 3,100 points in exactly 3 months and have only increased my level 250. Basically build everything you can that adds to your skills points.

It costs nothing after all and it is pretty easy to do if you have a large, generous mafia.

  7. If I'm going to buy, it would be cheaper to buy it when they have the 50% or 60% discount.
