Las Vegas: Robbing

Share:

My first article about Las Vegas, titled Las Vegas Basics, has little information about robbing.  At the time it was written, not enough players had built their properties and there weren't any available to rob.  As more players have started working on Las Vegas, this is no longer the case.

Fortunately, the only thing different about robbing in Las Vegas from the other cities are the property names.  Zynga is still throwing that annoying bundle pop-up at us and that hasn't changed either.  Since most haven't built their Casinos to full capacity yet, the properties available for robbing are the smaller ones.  It's hard to say what the overall average experience/stamina ratios will be.  Right now they are not as good as they are in New York.  From the runs I did today, the exp/stamina ratio in Las Vegas was 1.61 and in New York was 2.39.  I like that I can do a stamina run on robbing and end up with a decent amount of Vegas Chips.  To me, that's worth sacrificing the extra experience I would gain if I robbed in New York.  The following images were taken during one of my robbing in Las Vegas stamina runs (I admit, I had to clear a few boards to get a 9-0 result but I had to look good for this article, right?).
Another great thing about Zynga not changing the basic lay out of robbing is that I can still use one of my favorite bookmarklet programs, Robber Beta.  Whenever there is a change in the game, the script writers have to go in and rewrite their scripts.  I don't know what this entails but I can only imagine it's not easy to do.  The problem with Las Vegas being in the Beta testing phase is that things will probably change in a relatively short period of time.  This is why some of the scripts don't work in Las Vegas right now.  Robber Beta, written by Team Spockholm, is one of the easier and more reliable bookmarklet programs around.  It hasn't missed a beat and works just great in Las Vegas.  To start using it today, follow the instructions below.
1.  If you are new to using bookmarklet programs, read my articles about Zynga and Facebook TOSInstallation, and Common problems.

2.  Go to the Spockholm Mafia Tools Beta Page and locate Robber Beta.  There is a Robber program on the stable page but it's best to use the Beta version because when changes are made you won't need to remove and re-add it.  This is why I didn't have to do anything different once the Las Vegas properties were written into the script.
3.  Click, Drag, and Drop Robber Beta into your bookmark toolbar.  If your toolbar is not visible, click Control + B and it should appear under your browser bar.  I use FireFox so things may be a little different in other browsers.

4.  Go to your Mafia Wars game and unframe the page.  Unframe means to get rid of all the Facebook stuff framing your Mafia Wars game.  If you haven't already installed the Unframe-MW bookmarklet, go to the Spockholm Mafia Tools Stable Page and do so.  Once Unframe-MW is installed and you are on your Mafia Wars page, click on it once to unframe the game and click on it a second time to get the scroll bars to appear so you can maneuver within the game.

5.  In an unframed game, go to fighting and click on robbing.  From your bookmark toolbar, click on Robber Beta once and your screen will now look like this.
6.  Adjust the settings and click on "Start Robbing".  Once your run starts, you can minimize the window and go about your business on the computer by opening a new window or do a real life activity like take a shower or walk your dog.  When you return, Robber Beta will still be doing it's thing.
Delay Interval:  To deter detection of script use by Zynga, Team Spockholm recommends you set the delay interval at 2-4 seconds.  I like living on the edge so I keep mine at 0 and 0 (I don't encourage you to do this at all).
Repeat Robbing:  Check or uncheck if you want it to keep robbing.
Only Full Boards:  If you don't have enough stamina to clear the board, the program will stop and wait until enough stamina is generated to continue.  I usually just want to blow through my stamina so I keep this feature unchecked.
Banking:  After each board is cleared, Robber Beta will bank your money for you.  This feature does not work in Las Vegas because we have to use our vault to store chips.  Zynga seems to think that everybody in Las Vegas launders their money into casino chips and keeps them buried in the desert.  I live here and can assure you this is not the case.  There is a lot of cash and banks in Las Vegas.  I don't like that we can only vault a predetermined amount of money based on the upgraded status of our vault. 7.  Review your statistical data.  At any time during or after the run, you can click on "Property Stats" and "Loot" to get logs of the properties you robbed and the loot you received.
Stats:  Tells you how many stamina points were used, how many robberies were performed, how many boards were cleared and the number and percentage of successful and failed robberies
Gained:  Tells you how many experience points and how much money you got, plus the exp/stamina and money/stamina ratios.
Property Stats:  Tells you exactly what properties were robbed and if you won or lost.  It also breaks down your numbers into win percentages of property types robbed.
Loot:  Logs all the loot you received for robbing wins and board clearings and gives to the drop rate percentage of stamina used/loot gained.

  2. I know Martin is working on it. There is a post on the Spockholm Fan Page. I'm waiting to hear from PlayerScripts.com about the MWAP. You can check out their forum to see if they have a discussion thread about it. I will make a post here when I know more.
