Las Vegas Basics

Share:

Las Vegas is now in Beta mode and it launched sometime last night.  I'm about to get on an airplane, ironically to go back home to Las Vegas.  Here are the basics of the new lay out which is all flash based and very similar to the NY seen on a few new accounts.  I don't have time to edit this or add more details.  I strongly suggest that you visit Mafia Wars Wiki Las Vegas Page as they will be updating this page.  Click on any of the screen shots to enlarge.  UPDATE:  I've cleaned up my own screen shots and added a few from other sources.  Erica Devil started a really good post titled  Screen Shots of Las Vegas on the Zynga Forum Boards.  There are a lot of really good screen shots.  I wish I found this before I wrote this article! There are a few discussion threads to look at as well.  The one that interested me the most was the one started Fenris, a game developer, titled Job Paths in Vegas.
 The Welcome Pop-Up
HOME PAGE
The difference here is that the money is chips.  It is different from NY money in that there is a V in front of the dollar sign.  I had V$13,000 as soon as I got to the page.  There is also an option to convert your Racks into Vegas Chips.  These are much like the envelopes of Bhat.  You get a different amount of chips for everyone that you open.  Just like the envelopes of Bhat, they don't appear to be worth that much.
JOBS
You get a pop-up with some instructions on doing the jobs.  There are two paths to choose from, the Energy Path and the Fight Path.  There are currently six episodes available at this time.  They unlock as you progress through each episode.

ENERGY PATH
 FIGHT PATH
I did the first few jobs in the Energy Path.  It was easy to buy the equipment needed and master the jobs.  I liked getting the skill points and hope to get a lot more.

FIGHT
PvP Fighting is available just like with all the other cities.  I attacked somebody and got money, but it was NY money.
Da Irish Kid had better luck than me.  Not sure if this is a glitch but he got $65,000, there is a Vegas Chip image before the amount but there is no V before the dollar sign.
Fight Tournament
Three of the ten Las Vegas Achievement Badges can be earned by collecting trophies in the Fight Club Tournaments.
Robbing
Since Las Vegas just opened and not many have built their properties, there was nothing to rob yet.

 CASINO
You will get a pop-up telling you what you need to accomplish to start building your casino.  There are 5 properties and 1 vault.  When you hoover your mouse over each building, the details of what is needed to build each one appears.  The Vault is where you will "bank" your money.  You can do a straight up deposit of your chips or you can convert NY currency into chips.  How much you can store and convert in The Vault will depend on how much you upgrade it.  You upgrade your vault the same way you did The Weapons Depot and Chop Shop but you use Las Vegas Consumables.  These items now drop when you do jobs.
Building & Using Your Vault

This is all the Las Vegas Collections on my screen at this time.  Maybe as I unlock jobs, more will become available.
Achievement Badges
I love Achievement Badges (except What's After Trillion?) and was happy to see there are 10 new ones.  It should be fun getting these and the skill points that go with them.
