Brawler: Arun's Mafia Helpers

In the Mafia Wars Community, the name Arun is synonymous with The Chucker.  Some may not know that Code Outpost Mafia Tools has many other cool bookmarklet programs in addition to The Chucker and The Wishlist Chucker.  One of the more brilliant ones is Brawler Beta.  Until recently, I haven't done much fighting.  My character is strong but I prefer to rob because I want to be a Grand Master Thief .  Since the best loot is gained through fighting, I've been using Brawler a lot more.  Fighting off of the fightlist is a pain.  It can take forever if you have a large stamina pool and it isn't a lot of fun.  The implementation of the Power Attack and Random VS Rivals features have made fighting in this manner a lot better but it still bores me.  Fighting off the hitlist is fast and exciting plus it feels good to knock people off of it.  When I don't have time to collect bounties from the hitlist, Brawler allows me to use my stamina on the fightlist without all the calculating, clicking and time it would take to do it manually.  To start using Brawler today, follow the instructions below.  If you are new to using bookmarklets, review my articles about Zyngas TOS and Script Use and Bookmarklet Installation.  Special thanks goes to Arun for answering my questions and helping me understand some of the common mistakes made when entering the settings.  When Brawler doesn't seem to be working, most likely it's operator error and not the program.  Adjusting the settings to include a wider variety of targets will fix most of the issues. 

1.  Go to Code Outpost Mafia Tools and locate the Brawler Beta bookmarklet. 

2.  Click, drag and drop "Brawler" into your bookmarklet tool bar.

3. Go to your Mafia Wars game.  From your toolbar, click on "Brawler" once to unframe Mafia Wars and click on it a second time to activate the program.  If you are having problems because your screen starts doing weird things, read my article about Screen shrinkage and what you can do to stop it.  Your game screen will now look like this:

4.  Adjust the settings to meet your preferences.  There are so many options that you can set this up to fight exactly how you would on your own.  It actually fights better than I do.  I usually click on a random attack button and don't put much thought into it.  Brawler does the thinking AND clicking for me.  If you find Brawler hanging up a lot, you probably have the range of your settings too narrow.  If there are no targets meeting your selected criteria than Brawler will have nobody to attack and will keep looping as it searches for targets.  It's also important to make sure you are not doing anything in other tabs which will change the city you are in while running Brawler.  If you are doing something manually in Mafia Wars in a new window or running another script at the same time and the city is changed from the one you selected for Brawler, it will cause a delay in the program.  Arun has added a fix for this but it's best to run through your stamina before doing other in game tasks.  

A.  Fights:  Enter the number of fights you wish to initiate.  Keep this at zero to use all of your stamina.
B.  Heal City:  Brawler will heal for you.  Click on the city name to change it to the city you wish to be healed it.
C.  Delay:  It is recommended to keep this at 1 to 2 seconds.  I like to push the envelope so I reset it to 1 to 1 seconds.  It is recommended that all scripts be set to delays that will deter their detection to prevent account disablement.
D.  Fight:  To fight off the fight list, click "Fightlist".  To target someone you have a beef with, click "Specific Users".  Adding users to the user list who are in your mafia will cause Brawler to hang up.  The game won't let you attack family members so neither Brawler.  This will cause it to keep looping.
E.  Before level up:  Click on "Stop" or "Continue" to change.  If you choose "Continue" then Brawler will keep fighting once you level up and you won't be able to brag about your promotion to your friends.
F.  Attack only if Cash from same city:  This will select targets who are in the same city as you are fighting from.
G.  Limit number of attacks per person:  If you don't want to be "that guy" and get someone agitated, enter a low number and Brawler will move on after a few attacks. 
H.  Enable Specific Faction Attack:  Choose from Triad, Yakuza, or a balance of Faction points determined by you.
I.  Enable Bank if Cash in hand is greater than:  Brawler will bank your money for you.  This is great for Baht.  If you are going for your NY money achievements, be careful.  You don't want to bank it and lose 7% of your money like I did when researching for this article.  7% of over 3 trillion dollars is a lot!
J.  Only attack live targets:  Attacking live targets will give you better odds of getting money but you might ruffle some feathers and get some people butt hurt when they are attacked and lose (see below for details).  Dead targets can be attacked and you will gain experience points and loot.  Attacks on dead people will not show up on their home page log.
K.  Enable Power Attack:  If someone is close to being iced, the Power Attack feature will not be utilized by the game.  Enabling Power Attack will only cost you 1 stamina per attack if the Power Attack option is not available for your target.
L.  Minimum cash limit per attack:  Enter the minimum amount of cash you wish for your targets to have out of the bank.  In an ideal world we would all set this as high as possible.  Remember it will take longer to use all your stamina if you are too picky about these options.  Brawler will keep looping until it finds the right target.  If you have a lot of time, you can set it at B$10,000 and let it search for those with unbanked money. 
M.  Levels:  Choose the minimum and maximum level you want your targets to be.  The fightlist levels range from 450 - 25000. If a user has set a level of 0-500 and the fightlist keeps coming up with >500 levels, Brawler will keep reloading every 1 minute.  You may think Brawler is not working when in fact there are no targets available.  Keep the range high to avoid hang ups.
N.  Mafia:  Choose the maximum mafia size you want your targets to have.  Lowering this will increase your odds of winning the fights that Brawler initiates but could cause hang ups if there are no available targets matching your entry on the fightlist.
O.  Ignore Names with Characters:  You can tell Brawler who NOT to attack.  This will keep you out of trouble with your clan and those you are in alliances with.  This field should contain one pattern of character(s) per line.

Some users set it as {}[] or [ ] { } on a single line which is wrong.  Setting a space in the this field ' ' (without the quotes) would cause it to skip almost everyone.
P.  Loot %:  Brawler does a total number of loot/stamina used calculation. These % numbers may vary if an when promotional events involving loot drops are going on.  When Zynga changes something in the loot drop message, Brawler may stop logging loot but the loot does get credited to your inventory. 
Q. Log:  Adjust the log by entering the number of attacks you would like to keep track of.  All fights that Brawler does for you will be logged here with the Mafia Wars name of the person you attacked, the results of the fight (win or lose), the experience gained from the fight, the cash gained from the fight, and the loot that was dropped for the fight.
5.  When you finish entering the settings, click on the little red button in the upper right had corner to start kicking some a$$!!!  If you need to change something during a run, simply click on pause.

6.  Review your statistics.  Here are some of the results I've gotten from using Brawler (click on images below to enlarge).  The screen shots were taken after I did a small run of 35 fights.  This is my favorite thing about this program.  It's really cool to see that all the stats have been logged for me and I can review them collectively.  Results I can see from fighting manually don't give me a whole lot of information and would take a long time to locate and then calculate.  The following information is available to you in one quick glance of your computer screen.
1.  The number of fights initiated.  With the new power attack feature, this count only indicates the number of fights Brawler does and not the amount of stamina that was spent.
2.  The experience gained to include the experience/stamina ratio.
3.  The number of wins and losses.  Add these numbers to calculate the total amount of stamina that was spent.
4.  The amount of cash gained or lost in each city.  This includes the cash spent to heal your character.
5.  The points gained or lost in each Bangkok Faction.
6.  The number of overall attack and defense points gained because of loot drops.
7.  The number of kills and icings.
8.  The overall percentage of loot drops out of the stamina used.
9.  A log of all the loot items you received including their attack and defense scores.
10.  A log of each person you attacked including the statistics of each fight.
