Events + Loading Issues = Unhappy Customers

If the developers of Mafia Wars expect the players to deal with this, this, this and this at the same time.....

Why don't they do something about this so we can! If you're spending money on this game, ask yourself why? I would love to go back to being a VIP subscriber and I wouldn't mind buying reward points when I need them. I won't until they fix this broken game and I'm sure I'm not alone.

  1. Sadly enough people are spending enough money for Zynga to not give a rat's ass about anything. And cancelling VIPs etc wouldn't help either... if enough people cancel and stop spending money... the game would simply be shut down rather than the developers waking up and fixing these issues. IF they wanted to fix them... I am sure by now they would have... sad company indeed. Never getting involved with another Zynga game again.

There's just nothing to be done about it. You did the right thing cancelling... next step should be deleting the game and going outside enjoying the freedom of life :)

Just wish we could all somehow stick it to Zynga in a blaze of fire and leave the game all at once :P But even then, they would just play their "we don't give a rat's ass" card and shut the game down and move on to ruin other games...

  2. simple, people do fewer events and eventually stop playing. due to loading issues and event overload, i may complete one, possibly two of these events. maybe none? urban assault requirements are worse each time. i really used to want to finish it but am rethinking that for this round. same with special districts. the pay to play sub-special district is not worth mentioning. i used to care about completing events, not anymore. i'm sure i'm not alone. zynga are you listening?

  3. All along I've been suspecting that they've been shutting down servers as droves leave the game, cramming those remaining into few servers. Saves them money, slows everything down for us. I'd put 100 RP on! (Is there a way to test whether anyone's been moved to another server?)

    1. There used to be a spock tool(?), I think, that allowed you to see what server you were on, but I can't remember the name of it, unfortunately.

  4. Please do us all a favor and stop being bitter former vip player. If you don't enjoy your game then don't play. You DON"T speak for the mafia community so stop trying to.

    1. LOL, you don't have to come here and read everything. I'm not bitter at all, I could easily sign back up for VIP but I'm finding I never needed it. As a serial leveler and script user, I don't need it. I feel bad for the manual players and wonder why people paying for a broken game are still doing it. That's all. Since Zynga reads this blog and you are clearly in the minority maybe they will do something and fix some of the issues. Eventually those who are still spending will get fed up if they don't and the game will shut down. I'd rather not have Mafia Wars exist than to keep spending on a broken product. For now, I just set up my bot and everything is done for me. If they fix the game so I don't need to use a bot then it might be fun again.

    2. Funny, loads of contradictions here.

As a former VIP player, since day 1 as you stated in a previous blog, you gave up your VIP, as you tell us now as " I feel bad for the manual players and wonder why people paying for a broken game are still doing it", where in the same answer you say : : "As a serial leveler and script user, I don't need it."

So how can a former VIP player from day 1, care somuch about manual players, who are not using a script and are not playing 24/7?
Sounds a bit as white collar who tells the working force, don't worry we get things done for ya, believe me......

With all respect LootLady, your glass to often is half empty and not half full.
I've been reading your blog for some time, tyi I am a MW player for over 6 years and on FB for over 8 years now, and putting a finger on what is wrong is right, however I can't remember reading you making any suggestions in how to improve MW.

You gave up your VIP membership, maybe it's time for you to give up this blog, stop playing MW, and get a taste of the RL, as MOST of us who play MW do and have, as we adults see it as it is, a simple game at the end of the day.

    3. I've always felt bad for the manual players and have many posts criticizing for encouraging and rewarding script abuse. Just because I feel bad for those who don't use scripts doesn't mean that I'm going to stop using them. I gave up the VIP Membership because of the game issues that they won't acknowledge or fix. I don't need the VIP and only had it for the blog. I decided that by giving money and promoting Zynga was making me just as bad as them. So it was more on principle than anything else. Do you really want me to state the obvious and make suggestions on how to improve Mafia Wars when we all know that Zynga will keep doing what they do anyway? I won't give up this blog until the game shuts down so that is wishful thinking on your part. It's here, I've been doing it for 6 years now, it's easy so why would I stop? It is a simple game but the red flags are here and people tend to get angry when I point them out. The fact is Zynga drove players to script use while not realizing that at the same time they converted spenders into free players. I run a bot all day, get everything done and in the process farm reward points. Rather than wish that I give up the blog, maybe you should stop reading it. That would be the simple thing for an adult to do at the end of the day.

  6. They released both the Urban Assault and the Mexico secret district the same time last time, but at least last time, I'm sure the Mexico sd had 14 day timer on it. They enjoy pushing people to the point where they will quit. It is obvious. Either that or they enjoy all the complaints they get. I guess it justifies their existence.

  7. html5 is not new, allot of sights have moved from flash to capture the mobile market, and now the browsers are moving on. Flash is old, and mw needs to do some new coding, or close all flash games. The slow server responses are an indication that they are pulling servers from mw to other games. FLASHFOX a browser will work for manual play on android devices, but no of the popular addons refuse to code for mobile playing.

  9. Z will shut down MW this year. It seems this is their last effort to make money out of us. Zynga just keeps throwing things at us to get money. Mafia wars will shut down. :(

    1. Lets hope so, haha... seems to be the only way to really kick this addiction :P I pray everyday that today will be the day when Zynga announces the shut down... but, as long as we keep spending money on their insane copy/paste events... they will keep the game going for sure.

And most events now, cater the script abusers anyway... not much fun in that... but Zynga has a HUGE incentive to keep the Demon/Spockholm users happy... and this arena event is one way of doing that - and by the looks of things, it's working great

  10. I have a friend that spent OVER $ 11,000 dollars on this stupid ass game in a 18 month period. Yes, you read that correctly ($ 11,000). I reviewed her expense on FB accounts. Once I saw that, I canceled my subscription to MW. I had spent slightly over $ 2,000 in 18 months. Addictive? Yep. But I have self-rehabbed. Now I just hope my friend sees the light.

  11. Funny I never have loading issues, running MW in Happy Place using Chrome as browser.

Personally I think it's not only the servers of Zynga, but also depends on your internetconnection.....my internetprovider gives me good internet speed, connects me fast to every site I wanna visit....

The problem could also be in the modem one is using, every internetprovider has channels to which a modem is connected, it could be possible that ones modem is attached to a very busy channel.
From own experience I can say, if you contact your internet provider, they can see on which channel you are [busy how strong your computerl/laptop/notebook is], and help you change it to a channel where traffic is less.
Worked for me a few years ago, and I know they still give this service, you only have to ask for it.

It's easy to bash Zynga for all that goes wrong, but it's a 2 way street, we also have the responsibility to make sure our internet connections are up to date.

    Hope it helps.

    1. LOL.... another Zynga employee found its way in here... you go tell your employer to FIX THE FRICKING GAME!!!!! And stop blaming poor Internet connections... the issues we are all experiencing are ONLY occurring when playing MW... how does THAT fit into your "bad Internet connection" idea? I have NEVER had a single loading issue or server issue while playing ANY other game on FB... and I have even tried playing on 3 different computers, in 3 different browsers, on 3 different locations and guess what???? It ALL the same, buddy... LOADING ISSUES, SERVER ERROR MESSAGES... no matter where I play or on what computer... so don't tell me it's my "Internet connection" haha... stupid, ignorant Zynga employee

FIX YOUR GAME OR SHUT IT DOWN!!!

  12. MW loading issues are not because of slow internet connection/speed. I have played World of Tanks for a couple of years now, and have NOT ONCE had a problem. Give World of Tanks a look, you'll enjoy a game that loads without problems and plays seamlessly. You fight on a team of 15 against another team of 15.
