Ninja Kingdom Shutdown: July 7, 2015

Share:

Another Zynga game is shutting down. It was only a year and a half ago that there was a cross game promotion with Ninja Kingdom in Mafia Wars [1]. Many players liked this game and continued to play it. Zynga needs to update their All Games Page as 15 of the games listed are closed (or soon will be) [1]. As more games close, more of us worry about Mafia Wars. It amazes me that Zynga has done nothing to offer reassurance, that Mafia Wars will last. If they want us to spend money, they could at the very least post something about the future. The Mafia Wars Team probably doesn’t know and will be just as surprised as we are when the shutdown happens. The fact that Ninja Kingdom (a game with over 2 times the monthly players as Mafia Wars) could be pulled just like that doesn’t make me feel very confident [1],[2]. Thanks to Lukman Arif Indarto and Raymond Morris for posting on our fan page.

  1. I kinda figured the game was going to be closing soon since they haven't had any monthly promotions for the past few months.

  2. I had played NK when the cross promotion happened and I continued to regularly up until this year when there were little to no updates or new events. They would do cut and pastes of certain events as they do in their other games which is fine, but they stopped doing all that too. No new content in a while. There are certain features and things that were "coming soon" that still have not arrived nearly a year later, not that it really matters now. I logged into day after nearly a month away and saw that everything is still the same except that now it's going to close soon. There was not much money to be made from NK as the in game currency can be purchased easily at a very low price. In light of so little new content in a while, it's no surprise that hardly anyone was buying stuff.

  3. Wondering if any of the games that closed had vip monthly subscriptions . Being that they have already listed what the elite vip deal will be in 6 months would lead me to believe that they plan on keeping it going for at least longer then that although you never know

  4. a special thank you gift in Empires and Allies, or FV2 whhaattttttt????? E&A was shut down within the past few years when did they re-release that one for play again? what a joke. Sales popping up every couple of days kind of like what they did in VW during the year prior to shutting that down.

  5. You're still amazed? lol... how is that even possible? By now you should know Zynga doesn't give a crap about anything, haha... so, it's actually more amazing that YOU are still amazed that Zynga gives a crap ;)

Zynga will NEVER give us any reassurance... I mean, how could they? The game could be shut down tomorrow if they so desire. They don't care... they keep it up as long as people spend money...and when enough people quit and/or stop spending money, we will get our 2 weeks notice... Zynga stopped communicating with its player base many moons ago... their arrogance is off the charts. And set arrogance will eventually lead to their demise... but luckily for Zynga... they don't care about that either.

  6. I have played Hidden Chronicles and I'm playing Ninja Kingdom and, as much as I can conclude, the first real sign of closure decision is lack of additional features and disappearance of game events, followed by disappearance of promotional sales. So, as long as MW is swamped with multitude of events and promotional sales, it's not closing.

  7. There has been no new content for over 4 months and more recently several features in the game were suspended. A visit to Player support was reassuring, they promised it was because they were working on new content.. That information was published just over a week ago .. and is still on the site! https://support.zynga.com/article/ninja-kingdom/Temporarily-Disabled-Features-en_US-1430410373847 Were they fibbing? Or just too inept to make the changes so they decided to pull it? Makes me VERY insecure about the future of Mafia .. but even if they DID do as you suggest and make a statement to reassure us all .. it would not be worth a damn .. the reassurance for Ninja Kingdom that new content was coming is sad proof of the lack of integrity of Zynga.

  8. Another perfect example that zynga doesn't care about nothing is the Anniversary Mocks. How many families have submitted a request for sponsorship and never heard back? My guess is... no-one will ever hear back again. Zynga just decided, out of the blue, to discontinue sponsoring these events... and did they bother telling us about it? No way, haha... if they did they would go against their own principals of "caring" - and we can't have that. Plus, there are currently three mocks that are waiting for the loot to be released by Zynga... one dating as far back as April 19th. Again, my guess here is... we will NEVER see those loots... Zynga just "decided" to NOT release them... and did they bother telling anyone? Nooo, haha... Zynga does, whatever the hell Zynga wants... and they don't care about anything.

To think... if they would care just a fraction of the amount of events they throw at us... this game would be a LOT different from what it is now... but many years of practice in NOT caring about anything or anyone, has left Zynga in the dark. They know people will continue to play their games and spend money... so why bother caring about the gamers? If you serve crap for your customers... and they complain about it but CONTINUE to eat it... and even ask for more... why the hell would you suddenly start serving prime meat? And after awhile... you start serving crap for wine... and crap for dessert etc. And people will STILL complain... but Zynga knows that people will continue to eat whatever they dish out... and those who quit... Zynga doesn't even care about... the game itself is not the main objective... making money is... and if a game goes below what is acceptable in revenue... well, Zynga pulls the curtains and it's bye-bye game. Regardless of millions of loyal gamers... THAT is a recipe for failure if I ever saw one.
