Zynga CEO: Don Mattrick Out/Mark Pincus Back In

Share:

In July of 2013, I remember making a post about Zynga’s new CEO Don Mattrick of XBox failed fame [1]. At the time Mark Pincus (the founder of Zynga) stepped down. Today it’s been announced that to roles are reversed. Don Mattrick is out and Mark Pincus is back in. Don Mattrick wasn’t able to turn Zynga around so Mark Pincus is going to try again. I don’t know why it’s so confusing for them. All they need to do is listen to the players and make adjustments based on feedback. If players are having fun than the money will follow. Use the links below for more details on the subject.

  1. That is in sharp contrast to the approach of Mr. Mattrick, who has typically been less focused on analytics and has championed game quality over all.

This is what the game is like when focused on quality?!?

    1. lol, that line struck me as odd as well. They must be talking about mobile because we can sure attest to the fact that any quality in the game that was there before Don Mattrick took over is certainly gone.

  2. They won't listen to us because we play on desktops, not mobile devices. Mr. Pincus has said he wants mobile games on mobile devices played by players who play games on mobile devices. You and I are for keeping the company alive long enough for the Zyngites to figure out how to make the dream a reality.

  4. Bill Gates (i think) is credited with one of the best bit of advice, your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning. Admittedly he's not always the best to act upon it, but he seems to have done pretty well, maybe Zynga need to take note.

  5. Kinda like the survey they did the other day and the first questions were do you like the graphics, what is your opinion on the story line. Umm this isn't a PS4. They could put stick people on the headers for the jobs and it would make no difference. Storyline? Hell the only time I read the storyline is when I'm looking for a certain job. IT'S A FIGHTING GAME!!!!!

  6. Hopefully Pincus will remember the times when they used to listen to the players shouts out to support regarding the issues with the game and might just get the Devs working on sorting out the issues. Any hoo with the one who failed with the xbox gone we can only hope we will see improvements
