Arena Smashup Token Redemption

Share:

The 2nd Arena Smashup event has expired and 3 days were added to the timer for Arean Token redemption. I had such a horrible leaderboard that 35 tokens was all I got. I never came in higher than 5th place. Zynga claims that we are grouped with players of similar strength but that isn’t true. I spoke with a few players on my leaderboard and their stats were more than twice that of mine. As stated in the walkthrough this event is based on luck as who you are against is determined by Zynga [1]. It’s not surprising that Zynga would do this but the joke is on them. After the first day I realized it was impossible so I didn’t spend any reward points [1]. If I thought there was a chance to place 3rd or higher I would have. It was humbling to do so bad in an event and now that it’s over I realized that it’s ok. Nothing bad happened to me, my stats haven’t suffered and nothing in the game has really changed. From now on if something is too difficult I'm just going to skip it (unless it's for a blog post). Thanks to Zynga for showing me the way!

  1. Welcome to the enlightened side where skipping events and chasing butterflies is the order of the day. :)

  4. Well, if you think that's a bad showing ... more than once, I was placed 3rd or 4th on my leader board with only minutes to go and got 0 reward, ending up 'suddenly' placed right down the table. I ended up with 10 tokens - big deal, eh?

  5. I managed third twice, but never higher. Ended up with 60 tokens. Used no reward points but used a lot of Meta Flairs and one Arena stam refill.

  6. The trick is knowing the nuances of how to work this event. I have 31K stam and only did 10 arenas a day and was first each day with about 750K. I also used a stam refil for the first arena each day. The easiest trick is disabling power attack for the first 10-15 seconds. I have never seen a frenzy in the first 10-15 seconds (I'm sure there are, but they are rare). By disabling power, your stam is used sparingly for this period and last longer, meaning you will catch more frenzies. The other important thing is to use a meta flair for the duration of your stam (provided you do not have enough to last the entire 90 secs). This will make your scores about double your stam, especially if you catch a frenzy. I use a stam refill for the first arena to cash in big on the added 30%. I usually ended up with 200K+ for the first one of the day. Of course it helps if you are the strongest in your arena so your stam is worth at least 1 score per. You have to babysit these 10 arenas, but if you can find the time, and you stack your bonuses up on your basic level up stam, you can achieve very competitive scores. My mini also came first each day, but did dozens and dozens of arenas. I babysit it for the first one, and then a couple more with bonuses stacked up, a couple times a day. By doing a lot, you should get enough of those where your score is counting as the strongest in the arena, and you hit a frenzy.. Again, my total score was usually in the mid 700Ks. Of course, if someone is going to use stam refills freely, you can't win without doing the same. Or if you get one of those bastard monsters in your group, good night Irene... :)

    1. That's great advice and I did all that (and a few more tricks outlined on the strategy post) on the first day. I had players getting well over 2 million. Nothing I could do could touch them. I had no choice but to give up, I had about 4 of those monsters! 2 of them were people I knew so I was able to ask them about their stats and they were way higher than mine in strength.

    2. One thing of note that I don't see many mention is that if you choose to fight in Mob Fury arenas you should make sure that when frenzy mode starts you use both meta flair AND tri-age boosts. By fighting in MF500 arenas with just 22k stamina I can usually get 70-80k damage without much effort. Since I have just 22k stamina I don't even bother attacking until frenzy mode starts and then when it is done if I have stamina left (usually the case) then I will hit each target a few times and watch to see which of them take the most damage (it flashes up in white over the targets picture) and prioritize my attacks where they get the most damage.

You have to play manually using this strategy of course, and its not the most suitable for those with huge stamina pools etc. Another trick to manual playing for those will smaller stamina pools or limited level ups etc is that if you end up in an arena with too many hard targets... just let it run out and try again.

Scripts unfortunately are not the most suitable or effective approach for any non serial-leveler/stamina-whale. Only 3 days (over two events) have I not come 1st, and 2 of them were given away on purpose.

  7. best part of the whole thing was that I burnt all my stamina....each and every arena. Now it is back to 3K-12K left over stamina / arena.

  8. arenas are based on your stamina pool and defense so my guess is that's what they mean with same strength and not your total combined strength so yes the higher ya go in these two the harder the boards get and yes ya will be placed with monsters that also have big stamina pool in this event there will be some that have slightly more stamina then you as really don't think everyone ranks the same etc so yes some are better then others and with the player base that is left its almost impossible to have a board with all the same stamina and defense , deal with it is what most of us do and really the loot will be worthless in couple months anyways
