Mafia Wars Request Update on Facebook

Share:

Towards the beginning of the month some players started reporting that all of their Mafia Wars requests were not showing up on their wall and they were unable to view all requests posted on the wall of others. At the time we weren’t sure if this was a bug or if it was something Facebook intended for application spam. It seems to be rolling out slowly and many more players now share this issue. Unfortunately for Mafia Wars players application spam is part of the game. In the past if Mafia Wars was added to your Timeline Activity Log requests would appear grouped. All you had to do was click on the ‘98 more’ link to open a scroll bar and you could view all of the requests in chronological order. The updated version states ‘See 98 more posts’ but when you click on it you can only see 2-4 of them and which ones appear seem to be random when it comes to the time they were posted. There is no scroll bar and more importantly there are no more visible posts. We can only hope this is a bug and Facebook will soon let us view 98 posts as advertised. With so many events focused on spam this is very bad news for players. A workaround of sorts is shown below and more detailed information about this as well as some other options can be found on our fan page [1].

Before
newsfeed4 newsfeed5
After
newsfeed2 newsfeed6 To get more requests on your wall, go to your Activity Log and highlight the ones you want to appear. I’m not sure if there is a limit to how many posts you can highlight but you can do it to multiple requests.

  2. This also happens with regular posts. My birthday just passed and I clicked to "see more" of them and it only showed me a couple.

  5. Last property build one of my profiles had this issue. It went back to FB "normal' with little boxes after the build. About 4-5 days before this build, it once again went to the "big" limited number posts and now it is on both profiles. As this is still limited to a few of us, most are unwilling to take the time to comment (which allows me to see posts) or highlight. Frustrating indeed.

  6. I seem to have lost the ability to delete all posts from a given application. This was very nice for cleaning up.

  8. If you use the spockholm toolbar, it may work with other toolbars also, you can disable auto post in the settings(top right corner, a hammer and wrench symbol) and then type something in the post before you post it, it does the same as the highlighting sort of.
But this update suck so hard, what is FB and every other webpage makers problems?
Like really, they just change thing up, just to change it up it looks like one guy get this brilliant idea he want in the history books and want to mess things up just to make a change just so he can say, i did it, thats my work, yeah.

So tired of FB and other pages changing stuff when the old works just FINE!!!

  10. If you type something on each post that is important (like begging posts) then that post will appear in your timeline separately and not in the MW "box".

  11. Why not make new friend's lists, like: mafia players, mafia family, mafia helpers ... or any other games you play, bookmark them. You can then view the posts of those lists, plus you could post your requests to the 'mafia players' list and avoid spamming non-players.
