Major Killer Instinct Update

Share:

The Killer Instinct Event has had an update. In the previous 3 seasons, all Crests earned were added to progression and the Leaderboard. In this event only the Crests from your best 10 Arenas for the day count. The best way to show this update is to compare the banners for the 3rd and current events. Once you have done 10 Arenas there will be a notification of how many Crests you need to get in order for them to count. I imagine Zynga did this to prevent the script users from always having the top scores in these types of events. Now strength will count for something. Because of this the strategy has changed. It’s now about your best possible score as outlined in our Arena Supremacy guide. The good news is we need less Crests than before (500 as compared to 750) but the bad news is many (including me) realized this too late. In order to master the event you will need a minimum of 71 Crests per day. It will be interesting to see if Zynga makes this change for all the family competitive events as well. I think it's a fair update as now all have the same chance regardless if scripts are used or not. Strong accounts and not ones built in 2 days will have the advantage.

  1. It's not about strong accounts, it's about those who spend money on the game.
A strong account can't get more than max crests per arena without paying for them. And the number of crests one can get in one arena is limited by the number of kill shots he can do, which is 22.5 crests max per arena (5 players healing in 10 secs for a max of 9 times per arena will give a max of 45 kill shots in one arena - in shootout, same is in mobfury) plus the bonus crest which are 5 max so around 28 in total.
PS: i hope you have enough space in your inbox to receive all the thank you's for this update!

  3. The advantage goes to those who play with their credit card. Even the strongest account cannot get the crests achieved by the current leaders in the event without serious use of refills and kamis. Well done to all those who were bitching for a new type of event after the last family kill fest event.

    1. Usually the ones who spend money are the strongest. Yes you will have to use kamikazes and stam refills but those with super high defense can get more kill shots so if they buy the power ups they will get a higher score. I didn't see anyone bitch about the new type of event, the only thing that changed was Private Arenas were not allowed. Most have been bitching since day one of these events because script users have a huge advantage. Now scripts can be taken out of the equation. I think it will be fun to see new families on the leaderboards. The same ones have been there for years and if the same ones want to still be there, they can buy Power Ups.

  4. Sorry Jen but I have to disagree with the "Do 500 Arenas". so far today I have done 2 100 arenas and 2 500 areanas. Score for 100 was 15 crests and 13 crests where as the 500 ones netted me 1 crest each time, and I do not mean 1 extra as in 16 total. There are too many monsters in 500 Areanas.. Lol.

    1. Thanks, I should have stressed that for accounts with a lot of stamina. I didn't think about the impact on accounts that couldn't hang the entire 90 seconds. I will update this.

    2. Thanks for reply, but I can last the 90 secs in the 100 and usually have to use a kami to finish all stamina, in the 500 ones I used 2 stamina refills each time and did last the 90 secs.. I have 16k normally, when I done the 500 ones I waited till collect props so started with 30k, then used another 32k in refills and still only got 1 crest..

  6. this sucks, and I hope they reconsider. Zynga should have considered the impact the Lycans Birthday Bash would have had on participation of this event and delayed it 3 days, instead of trying to encourage fighters into the arena. If I chose to build my account with the intention of doing arenas I do not expect to be penalised for it.

    1. Agreed, those of us who are doing the mock war will be behind.

  7. Hehe, how many joined that Bash? 5,000?? And how many total players in the game? 2,000,000? 5,000,000?? And you're telling me that Zynga did NOT consider you guys joining the Bash? They actually considered the rest over the 5,000??? Wow... SHAME on Zynga, haha :P That HAs to be a mistake... I see A LOT of RPs as compenation coming your ways, hehe... :P Anyways, relax peeps, I'm sure you guys will get this event done with 5 days to spare... hehe

  8. If it were possible to create an account that could win events, whether individual or family in 2 days, you would be a genius and your family would be the first to create an army of them. You haven’t because it is not possible. Try 2 months or more likely 2 years.

But why demonize script users anyway. The game is unplayable without scripts! They keep the game alive. I would sooner give up MW than scripts and your family is named after a “script” after all.

This change gives advantage to big money players it is true. But it also gives advantage to “fighters”. It is interesting to see that the current leader is a fighter but my beef is that fighters care little for the arena. They did not build their accounts with the expectation of doing well in the arena: they get their “thrills” in other ways like drive-bys or whatever. Those that like the arena and spent time, money and effort to build their accounts to take advantage of it are screwed. The arena and the events in the past encouraged serial levelling and so I, like many others, added to stamina. If it had always been the case that strength was the key, I would have put my skill puts into def/att rather than stamina which I in fact did.

I always thought that fighters should have had their owned event (maybe based on the fightlist) but to move the goal posts for arena events when many players have built accounts specifically for the arena is just not right.

  9. 1 event that doesn't favor the heavy script users and all hell breaks lose, hehe... so funny to read ;) I know many players who built their accounts in all kinds of different ways... and not all events favor everyone... that's just life... you roll with the punches. I know a lot who spent ALL thier skill points adding to attakc and defense to become stronger... and suddenly Zynga decides to change the game to a stamina and energy game... guess what... those people are now screwed... and to make matters worse... Zynga isn't putting events on a gradient... meaning someone with VERYlow energy needs to do the same amount of jobs for events as someone with VERY high energy... is that right? no... but when people post about that... repsonses are: Build you account better... well... if the arena is changing, which for one I think is great... then... arena script users are just going to have to rebuild too... sucks for all doesn't it?
