There will soon be relief for the many families affected by inactive Godfathers or Godmothers. This has been a problem in Mafia Wars for a very long time and Zynga is going to do something about it. By June 11th, families who have an inactive owner (Godfather/Godmaother) will find they have a new one. The way it will work is that the most 'suitable' underboss (to be determined by Zynga) will automatically get promoted to Godfather or Godmother. The new Godfather/Godmother will then have the option to remove the old one if they so desire. With over 20,000 registered families the impact of this update will be helpful to many but there will probably be some collateral damage. Since the only person who can boot an Underboss is the Godfather or Godmother, there may be some lingering and evil Underbosses who could rain havoc on a family. We have also seen many families get reset in Family Progression when there is a major change. Hopefully this won't happen to any families who get updated. There is a form for families who want to protest this update and it can be found here. Make sure you use the one on the Zynga page and not one posted by a 3rd party. This is great news! My family has this problem. If you helped in getting this changed, I'd like to thank you, Jennifer. Thank you for all the time and effort you put in to make this game playable for those of us that are still here. :)

ReplyDeleteIF this is done right, And the family is not reset it could help many families. However if they did not make sure it was right before release it is gonna really suck :/ I hope this was done right and it works the way it is meant to work..... and no evil under bosses mess it up...
