Mexico Boss Fights: Drop Rates, Combos & Scripts

Share:

In our original post about the Mexico Boss Fights not many statistics or strategies were provided. Time was needed to test and view observations from a larger pool of players. As with most things these days, many aspects of these boss fights are based on different account variables so they and won’t be the same for all accounts. There are a total of 45 Boss Fights (15 per District). There doesn’t seem to be any variations between the 3 bosses but there are differences between rounds 1-15 for each. This makes it complicated to present some of the information as it’s not the same for all accounts. One thing that does appear to be the same is the drop rate of Boss Fights. While you are progressing through Mexico the bosses will drop no more than 3 times for the bronze, silver, gold and ruby levels. If you don’t gun through it, you should have a total of 12 rounds per district completed by the time ruby mastery is achieved. There doesn’t appear to be a time cap on the 3 per district. Once ruby mastery is achieved, the boss fights will still drop but they seem to do so at a rate of about 1 per district every 4 hours or so. This should answer the question that if you miss one of the 12 can you still fully master the boss fights. The answer is yes but it will take a few days to get all 15 to drop. If you think there is something wrong because you haven’t seen a boss fight for days it means you have already defeated your 3 per the level you are working on and you need to master the level you are on to see more. For details on the basics of how these boss fights work go here. Below is an outline of the combos, stats, strategies and scripts pertaining to these boss fights. We can only hope everything will remain the same for Districts 4-11.

There is also another set of rules. Only 2 bosses can be active at any time. You can have 3 Diablo Modes at once but you can't have 3 active boss fights. Active boss fights and Active Diablo Modes appear on the map. UPDATE: As more districts were unlocked the number of boss fights which can be active at one time is 1 less than the number of possible boss fights.

On top of the job page you will find a boss icon in one of four different stages. There is also a tracker which displays how many rounds you have mastered. Once you get 15, the boss is recruited into your inventory as a loot item and no more boss fights will drop.

Once a boss drops, things on your job page will change and you have several options.

First off the job requirements and payouts will change. The requirements increase and the payouts decrease.

Normal Mode

Boss Active Mode
If you continue to do jobs, it will track how much experience and Pesos you lost but you do get them back if you defeat the boss before the timer runs out. Timers start at 1 hours for Round 1 and move up to 8 hours for Round 15. Most will go to a different district of South Africa to do jobs if they need to level before starting the boss fight. If you have excess energy and it will be wasted on a level up, you can use this strategically. The experience lost will be returned once the boss is defeated so you might as well do jobs in the active mode to bank experience which will be applied to the next level. bossloss

As outlined in a previous post, there are 3 options to attack. The attack button will do 1 fight per click and the Power Attack button will do 5 fights per click. The amount of stamina required per hit is based off your total stamina pool and will not be the same for all accounts. The amount needed does stay the same for all 45 boss fights and will only change if you increase your stamina pool. The maximum stamina any account will require is 150 per attack. The combo mystery has also been solved thanks to the Combo Breaker by Team Spockholm.

The Boss Fighter II will now accommodate the use of combos. In order to use them (or stamina), you need to tell it what you want it to do. Those with larger stamina pools usually just pick Stamina and Repeat last. bossfighter
If you want to use Ammo then pick your selections. All players are shown their Green Combos and they appear to be the same for all accounts.

The Yellow and Red Combos will do more damage but it’s a little trickier to find them. They are different on all accounts and there appears to be at least 70 of them out there. At no time during any round does Zynga show them to you and I assume they want us to buy them but that would be a waste of reward points. The Yellow and Red Combos are different for each boss and once unlocked, the combo does remain the same for all future boss fight rounds.

Team Spockholm has a few tricks to help you efficiently find your combos. Greg Schwark provided a sting of possible combos and that can be pasted into the Combo Breaker which is in the Configuration page of the script. To try it, copy one of the sequence strings shown here.

In Combo Breaker mode, Boss Fighter II will stop once it’s unlocked a combo. You can then use it for the rest of the rounds on the boss you were fighting.
combos6
Team Spockholm took the combo breaker 1 step further by making a spread sheet of active combos captured by players using the Combo Breaker. If you so desire, you can add these codes into the Combo Breaker (or try them manually) to narrow down the possibilities and save Ammo. The “1” represent the Green Combos and should be ignored. To view the spreadsheet and grab the codes, go here. The key for items is shown below.

Ignoring a boss fight is also an option. The fight will remain on your game until the timer runs out. There are no penalties for missing it if you choose not to attack. If you have made progress, when the boss shows up again, he will regain 20% of his health. The boss can’t go over 100% health so if you totally ignore them, they will still have 100% health when they reappear.

There are many variables for boss fights and the ones in Mexico are no different.
variables
The chart below sums up the variables and how they change as the rounds progress from the 1st Round to the 15th Round and how they vary between accounts.

Drop Rate Fights 1-15 Variations by Account
Timer Same
Bribe Amount Same
Health Different (Level)
Stamina Required No Change Different (Stamina)
Damage Done Different (Attack Skill)
Damage Received Different (Defense Skill)
Ratio Same
Green Combo No Change Same
Yellow Combo No Change Different (Random)
Red Combo No Change Different (Random)
Rewards Random Same
Diablo Mode No Change Same

Once you defeat the boss, you will get your rewards. The rewards consist of skill points (+2-+4), property upgrade parts, consumables and boosts. You will also get back anything you lost from doing jobs when the boss was active. The rewards are the same for all accounts but are random by boss round.
rewardsDiablo Mode is considered one of the rewards and can really make progressing through the levels much easier. Diablo Mode does the opposite of what the active boss mode does. The job requirements go down and the payouts go up. Diablo Mode lasts for 25 jobs or 15 minutes (which ever comes first).

Once Diablo Mode has expired, you will be told what you gained.
diablo3Throughout the stages of the boss fights, players will get 3 game interrupting messages. They gray out the entire page and take a few seconds to disappear. I’m not sure why Zynga chose this mode of notification because they already have many loading issues and most players thing something is wrong. There are enough notification on the job page and none of these are necessary.

Fortunately users of the Spockholm Mafia Toolbar have the option to hide them. Just go to the Configuration page and check the box.

  1. The number of doss fights appear to be averages.Having mastered gold in Tijuana, I have completed only 8 fights whilst I did 4 fights in Matamoros to master bronze.

  3. Like most players I had problems with Combo Breaker on the first two days, following which it enabled me to find a red combo for Boss Vidal within the first 31 consumable IDs I tried.

  5. In District 1 I am on Silver level, have done thousands of jobs, yet am still only 4/15 on the boss fight for that district. I thought on Silver I should be able to get to 6/15?

  7. Combo breaker never works for me. It sees the codes but it never transfers them to the game to use. Also I do not understand your chart. You need more than 3 bosses each level to get to 15. Your chart only adds up to 12 boss fights.

    1. You sort of get 6 bosses minimum on ruby, guess you get 3 while on ruby and maybe 3 after you master on ruby, but atleast on ruby its 6 or more bosses since you can only get max 3 bosses on bronze, silver and gold.

    2. Btw, the only requirement that goes down in diablo mode is currency required, the energy stays the same in diablo mode as in normal non diablo mode.
Just look at your pics in the example and you can also see it while in the game.
