Family Business Rant

Share:

Today is the last day to collect rewards from the expired Family Business Mission. With all the problems families must go through and all the technical issues of the game, it a miracle anybody finished. This one was much harder than the ones before it and it was not fun at all. Even if your family was able to finish, I’m sure there was drama. The video linked below expresses what many probably went through. It’s an oldie but goodie and the original made for Mafia Wars needed a refresh to be relatable to the game of today. Many thanks to William Montgomery, Jo Gilliam, Mike Nestor and Robert Padgett for trying to help make a post-able version. I finally gave up and so you will need to click on the image or here to view it. If there are issues loading it, you will have to wait it out as I think traffic affects it. An embed code would be awesome!

  1. The main problem with the family missions is the Energy side is so no equal to the stamina side.
Take doing a job 1500 times versus robbing 1500 times. Assuming a player has 1000 energy and 1000 stamina. Assuming he can do the job once per level and can clear a robbing board with 250 stamina. So he can clear 4 robbing boards or rob 36 times.

If he levels 42 times, he will by himself finish the robbing mission, but only have done the energy job 42 times. Less than 3% complete. Those two jobs are no where near equal. The energy job should be more like complete job 100 times..

  2. I ran up millions of energy on only one job in the last energy level and barely made a dent.

  3. I so hated this last Event!! Our peeps would not help whatsoever!!! Maybe five of us did our best and yet on the last day we still had one job left to do, I always had to farm consumables so on the last job I said "heck with it, and bought out the remaining part. My poor fat cash cow is now out to pasture, useless, dehydrated and milked dry; and if the next Event is as grueling, I might deactivate my account as this game has lost it's luster and is no longer any fun. :(

  6. Its funny how smug the people are who finished and assume the rest of us don't know how to play smart, recruit, etc. If only good players were left yeah these events would be easy. If the requirements were really fair, yeah again easy. Some of the families who yell the loudest about how easy it was probably had easy requirements or 100 people to do them but the rest of us didn't.

    2. You don't need E ho's for this event, but you do need a few accounts that can serial level. So its a choice, either you add everything to A and D or you choose to add some to E and S as well maybe making you a little weaker but able to play forever and that is your choice, is one better than the other? Hmmm maybe maybe not but fact is you play the way that you feel is right for you and I do it my way which is great.... Just don't judge others for doing it differently than you do.

  9. LOL i finished 9 out of 10 on very first day with Accounts.
This Family Business could be the best Feature of the game and should be added permannently . Only change should be restart the event after complete and getting higher loot stats in next round. But this will never ever happen cause all are whining and crying about it and thats why the game sux and i quit playing

    1. We finished only after they rest the timer...... I think this Family Business and the last has taught us (our family) to build more equal accounts stamina vs energy... Where as before many of us went very heavy on stamina for all of the ice and Arena events which was advantageous to us allowing us to finish the events with ease.... We have learned we need to evolve for these event and build our accounts to reflect these new events. Just our view on the Family Business...... I'm sure Zynga will throw us another curve ball soon enough and we will have to do damage control and evolve yet again.... HAPPY HUNTING....ɱąđąɱę ęŋƴȯ GM {βττβ} Bad to the Bone

  11. Who cares about the family. My family did a combined 10% of the event. I did the rest of the 90% by myself. Call me an energy hog and stamina whore. I just fill those two and that is it. I am able to do these jobs. Got through the first 4 stages without a problem. So what if I don't or my family doesn't finish. Zynga will always create more loot to make whatever you get as a prize outdated in a couple of months.

  12. I would like to see statistics from Zynga to see how many families actually completed the entire event. Some of these claims are fairly difficult to believe, unless different families are being given much different tasks to do. I do know from past events that smaller families than mine had to do MORE on many of their tasks than my family had to do, which was totally unfair to them. I have no idea how Zynga calculates this, unless it has something to do with the ratio of VIP members in a family.

    1. It would be interesting to know I agree. Considering how many families there are, I doubt the majority finished it. It would be so nice if Zynga would give us the charts they use so we know. If I need to have say, only 20 in my family to make the tasks manageable tell me. What are the cut offs for the task ranges.

  13. I think it is time Zynga changed the name of this game to Mafia Jobs/Arena. Lets face it, no one needs high skills to get ices any more with the Arena, and seems like events like this one needs loads of energy..This game has gone to pot in the last few years, I really miss the original way this game was developed..

  14. What would we ever do without all these great and wise players who obviously know how to play the game better than everyone else. Next month Zynga could come out with an event requiring more stamina and the same people will be shouting, build your stamina we told you. That's actually what some in my family did with all the fighting/arena events. This game changes on a whim. Regardless though, players should build their accounts as they like without the know-it-alls making their silly comments. How about we support our fellow players and Zynga adapt to how people play? How about if Zynga adapts to the fact that there are oh so many families out there and not everyone has high energy accounts available for their families? It isn't like there is a recruiting tree where we just go pick off the players we need.
