Extend The Family Business Timer

Share:

Many are reporting bugs with the 3rd Family Business Mission. Players who are willing and able to farm consumables do those low ratio/low item dropping jobs are finding that the icons of the required loot drop is not present. If it’s not then the item won’t drop no matter how many jobs are done. So many families are struggling as it is and this bug doesn’t help the ones with a fighting chance. The requirements were set too high and the joy and excitement of Family Business Missions has turned into drama and disgust. Games should be fun and there is no reason why Zynga can’t provide a fair opportunity to all families to complete this event. It should speak volumes that most families who are trying have completed the Muscle Path and are behind by 2 to 5 tiers of the Might Path. The number of jobs and the consumables required is far beyond what families composed of casual players can do [1]. The ones doing most of the work are getting frustrated as their only option to complete these events would be to join a different family for the next one and that isn’t good for the ones they leave behind.  At the time of this post there are only 3 more days and it’s not enough considering all the other events going on in the game.

  2. I so agree. Our family is working so hard on this and having a ton of trouble with the might path. As a fighting family most have low energy to begin with and all of these loot jobs are killing us. Many could only click once on the SA loot jobs with every level up. The beer barrel loot job is equally unrealistic. We might manage 1 job in tier 5 but no way to finish this path. Most of us have been together as a family 5 years and English is a 2nd language. Sorry we're not changing families just to complete this event.

    1. Having a bug is one thing but whining about your family not being able to finish a path because of your chosen investment in stamina is another. Our family didn't finish either path the first family mission and I didn't whine, I removed inactive players. The second mission left us on the last part of the stamina path unfinished and I still didn't whine, I recruited some players with heavy stamina. This time we will finish both parts before the timer runs out. If I had not made changes to my family we would be stuck like we were before. Either make changes to plan for success in these events or realize that you will not finish and be OK with it.

    2. There is a bug in the loot drop rate for the severance package. No excuse. It has personally screwed me and my family on this event which would have been already completed otherwise. I have found a work around to be able to complete the loot requirement, but it has not affected everyone the same way. Whiners yeah it's time to cut dead weight from the families or look to merge your active players into a stronger family. That is the reality of succeeding in this game.

  3. it is/was the same as with regular missions before. i understand that a lvl +75k has - or at least should have - more stam/energy than a lvl 2k player. however its stupid to also increase the required amount of crafted items in properties, collecting several prperties or declaring war. level does not have any impact on cool down timers.

  4. It's rediculious! 4 minis autoleveling on 1 Job for 4 days and only half done

  5. The requirements on this are ridiculous, and several of our higher energy players did not have the loot items on their jobs to get them, and this does not seem like much of an extension?? What did they extend it by an hour ffs, and to the first poster not it is not fun, feels more like work to me :)

  6. Extension will do no good unless they are going to had out a BUNCH of Beer Barrels.....

  7. I don't understand this at all... it is what it is... same for all. It's fitted to the amount of members in a family... it's just too bad most super levels decided to add hundreds and hundreds of thousands of Stamina and not so much energy... and now that they are struggling... they are yelling for more time. If you can't complete it... then it's just too bad... do what you can in the time you have... like everybody else. Should ALL timers get an extension? If THIS timer gets extended - why not the timer for an Ice Season? Or extend the timer for Joburg to 24 hours instead of 15 minutes to help the ones with low energy?? I don't see anyone asking for that... why not? Joburg is only for the HUGE levels with TONNES of Energy... but what about the low leveled players with 2000 energy... 3000 energy? They can get Joburg open, but then they have to stop because there is no more Energy nor time. The answer there is always: ADD MORE ENERGY!!!!

Well, the answer HERE could be this: Get your inactive family members to help and start ADDING MORE ENERGY!!!

To extend a timer just because some families hate not being able to finish this event is not legitimate reason. A lot of families CAN complete them... it's a family effort... IT IS WHAT IT IS... everyone should know by now how Zynga operates... to extend ONE timer and not another is NOT fair... so, who decides which timers get an extension?? I know A LOT who is struggling with Joburg, just to name one thing... is it fair they can't finish it due to low amount of energy and not enough time?? Is it fair that a level 4000 needs to complete the same objectives in missions as a level 20,000 - who has 10x the amount of stamina and energy??? No!! But it is what it is... I don't see anyone here asking for an extension in missions to help low levels... so, where does the line go?? Like I said... if ONE timer gets an extension... why not a second tmer... and a third...???

It is what it is... deal with it the way everyone else who can't complete events does... there is always something someone can't coplete... that's how the game is designed... extending times is not the answer... becasue then ALL timers need to get an extenson

    Just my 2 cents

    1. I actually added 2000 energy over the past 2 months anticipating that something like this might come along again....and it helps in Brazil, London, and Chicago. but South Africa jobs appear to be based off of a percentage of your energy. I added 2000 energy and then found jobs on the teirs requiring more energy than they had before, some up to 2000 more energy. I think the same may be true of the three tier operation events. It seems to do no good to add energy to complete more jobs, if the jobs will then require more energy to complete.

  8. Requirements should be based on the levels in your family, not how many. A tiny family can blow right through this. It's like a punishment for being a long time player. A challenge is one thing, frustration something else. This event misses the mark for being a good community event. ~Lonnie

  9. It's bad enough that the last level has 4 jobs that need consumables, but then to loot stuff and have it not show up as getting looted is unforgivable!

  10. Not zyngas fault that we didn't build up our energy or revisited old cities to farm consumables!!!! We are doing what we can and moving on without the drama!!!

  11. I fully agree!! I have low lvls in my family, and most of them can't even help with 2 of the missions, so it's up to me and 2 others to do them :( I get maybe, if I'm lucky, 3 barrels per full energy, not fair!! It would've helped if we got 1 barrel per click at least!! Then when u eventually get to the real mission job, u don't get Severance packages :( It totally sucks!!!!

  12. My family have never finished a family business, we have way to many slackers, but anyway, why couldnt they just copy the first family business?
My family didnt finish the first family business, but the first one was more fun atleast, in my opinion, id rather click a semi good brazil job 1000 times then needing to loot something 400 times when the drop rate isnt 100%.
Give me a brazil job i need to click 2000 times manually for that matter, id rather do that then loot stuff and not to mention that i need to collect consumables to loot stuff.

I wish they could warn us like 2 days before this event so we could kick the slackers and also loot consumables, not that 2 days are enough to loot enough but.

  13. I am still unsure of how Zynga assigns the requirements per family,
it might be like the job requirement in the fashion it is according to your level, or amount of energy, or just the number of members, i am not sure, But..
The fear i hold is that families will have no choice but to dump the NON-PARTICIPATING MEMBERS in the attempt to lower the family number in the hopes to getting more favorable requirements. for each of these family events.. Our family with only 72 member on job 3 section 4 needs 1512 Severance Package, which doesn't sound like a lot until you remeber the job to get barrels, cost 972. the job to get the 1512 Severance Package cost 1188, and the drops on the barrels are about 60%, and those 1512 Severance Package . well that drop rate is less than 20%. that 1 out of 5, even an account with 30K plus can only get 5 or 6 per level up, and with an average level up in a day being 25, that is only 100 out of the 1512 Severance Package need for this one part. I have no clue how the hell my other family member are doing but many, don't even have 5K in energy, and can not level up 25 times a day maybe once or twice, this one job need days worth of work.
But i have a feeling.. tier 5. is just as bad, so i have choosen to contine for the next 3 day on this one job, ans quit the family event.. it is NOT worth the time, oh and my kin points... Total kinpoints: 36953. Members: 71. Average kinpoints: ~520/member.

    Rank Name Points Contribution
    1 Evad 10275 27.81%

extend or not. just not worth it..
    Evad from the Chill Zone...

  14. Forcing and kicking the casual players to the curb does not seem to be in Mafia Wars best interest. Not all mafia war players have the time to play daily but love the game. It that what Mafia Wars want the casual players to quit. Red Tagged family Daily players are carrying the additional load as they are loyal to the family. When that extra work is not even denting the demands of the job side of things why bother. I doubt it but that is what they are asking the Red Tagged Families to do to be successful in the Family Business Mission.

  15. my family with no big players, no VIP, and 20% non-participating members are on the last job. we just keep trying. with all the glitches, we keep going.
never do we come in on the ranking board for any event, we just do what we can. this game is not a race to me. it is a game.
you won't hear whining to extend timers for arena/icing/job/slaughter/joburg from me - if Zynga changes one of them, where the hell is the challenge? HOWEVER, i fully think that extensions are warranted when glitches (facebook and zynga) ruin things. since they didn't negate or re-start the ice event when families retained their previous scores, wonder how fair they are picking and choosing where to help players in any challenge.
it is what it is. sometimes you won't finish nor come in on the leaderboard. enjoy what you can and commiserate with everyone addicted to it.
it could always be worse. you could have to loot politico corruptos or collect a million brass knuckles. oh wait, got those...........lol
    happy gaming peeps!

  16. Families need to be a little more strategic. if you are stuck on tier 4, because of beer barrels or consummables, then you should focus all your efforts on the jobs that you can probably finish. You get the family xp bonus when you finish a task. Finishing a tier gives individual rewards. Try to finish as many tasks as you can to maximise the family XP gain. I have accounts in 2 families and both will finish without any extention on the last day. We are nearly there, but this would had been our strategy if we got stuck.

  17. I am all for a fair crack at the whip, level playing field, BUT when you have accounts that CANNOT help because the are not available too drop, that is wrong......we know there is NO support and the Companies wonder why they are losing thousands of players daily......Pathetic!!!!

    1. I absolutely agree! All our energy accounts have the "bug" and no loot dropping to finish. Coincidence? Called "support" and as always they were no help at all!

  18. "You reap what you sow". There are so many players kami-ing and there are so many serial levelers made for this purpose, that it seems to have driven the requirements to the moon. Like many other paradigm shifts in the game, this is just another one. Better get to building a few serial levelers in your family. They are dead easy to build and don't cost a dime. Go with the flow of the game, or get run over. Always been that way... always will be I suspect...

  20. The problem I see is that when my Double Lot henchman is active I get no or very minimal Geese to drop (4 for 25 thousand energy at 6k energy per level up). When henchman is NOT active I get more per energy run... is this just coincidence?

  21. My Family BaDBoBs has abandoned the family Business with 18 hours left. The high energy/low ratio/low drop-rate jobs are just too much! I wonder who in Zynga thought this up. In the real corporate world, errors like this are inexcusable but for gaming companies, it must be different. Most of the new players of MW must be damn pissed off and on the verge of leaving the game because of this. When will Zynga wake up and listen to it's players?!
