UPDATE: The confusion was only for players (like me) who thought the timer was 12 days. It was actually 13 so Zynga isn't at fault for the event ending, they are at fault for not explaining it. Perhaps it was designed this way so players who didn't write down the # of days in the timer would need to spend reward points.
Zynga doesn’t have the best reputation for writing code and it’s even worse for writing instructions. At 8am PDT, many were surprised to learn that the cut off to get free American Flags for the Stars & Stripes event was today. The instructions clearly state to “collect and spend as many American Flags as you can for 12 days”. Then it says “AFTER which you will have another 24 hours to complete your Collection and redeem American Flags”. The word “AFTER” indicates there would be something happening 24 hours past the timer. This isn't the case as the ability to get free American Flags ended today at 8am PDT so we are now in the “AFTER” phase. I guess we were supposed guess from the phrase “BEFORE the timer expires”. If there weren’t other events that have 2 timers like the Robbing Spree and Crafter’s Choice it may have been easier to put 2 and 2 together.
Thanks for the clarification. It bothers me quite a bit that they can't count accurately and can't write (simple) instructions accurately.

We have recently received reports from some of our players that they are unable to get Flags from Jobs, Fights, Robbing, Feeds, Gifting and the Arena.
The event "Stars & Stripes" allowed players to collect and spend as many American Flags as they could for 12 days, after which they will have another 24 hours to complete your Collection and redeem American Flags for great loot before the timer expires.
This event started on June 25th at 8:00 PDT and will finish on July 8th. Go ahead and redeem all the flags you have collected, the timer is running, you have less than 24 hours to do it.

ReplyDeleteThat sucks, im missing only 1 loot and i could easily have gotten the last 50 flags i need tomorrow, but i guess not, i see now it sucks that i missed one day, but when you are sick mw is not that impoertant, but it sucks anyway hehe.

Umm. Where is the confusion? June 25th Thru July 7th is 12 days. If you are confused by that you need to go back to preschool and learn how to count. I am so sick of all of the whiny little crybabies in this game. Grow up and realize it is your inability to count that is the problem.

Delete26,27,28,29,30,1,2,3,4,5,6,7...count that. that is 12 days. The timer ends tomorrow which give you your 24 hours after the 12 days. Go ahead and argue that.

If the timer was 13 days than you are correct. It wasn't obvious. Maybe if the troll above you explained that better it would have made sense. It's my blog so I can call people who disagree with me trolls. Disagreeing and correcting are 2 different things. If you correct someone in a positive manner as you just did it's not really trolling. Calling people stupid cause they don't recall what something was 13 days ago is entirely different than pointing out the timer was 13 days.

DeleteMost people it won't. Hell I finished with more than 3 days left on the timer. It was bad for those who planned according to the instructions and can't be on line everyday. We aren't whining, we are just pointing out an error in the instructions. If you can't even go by what they tell you then there is a problem.
DeleteI'm really disappointed in the attitude Zynga has taken towards the Lack of Customer Service. Just reflects their poor stock standing. If Zynga would wise up and treat their customer base fairly Zynga would see better stock performance.
