How To View Collectable Stat Card Images

Share:

Yesterday images for the next set of Collectable Stat Cards were added to the inventory [1]. I didn’t feel like taking 30 screen shots so I suggested that players view them in the inventory. I know that the vast majority of you don’t care, but I was asked about it. Although the cards were added, the small images are broken links and can not be viewed directly. Some contain the large image but others do not. If you care and want to see them, follow the instructions below.

The first thing you need to know is the name of the collection. To get that, find the item in the inventory. You can either click on the blank image from the Inventory History list or search for the item on the inventory page.  For this example, we will use the Gun Barge which does not have a large image. You can use any image link (big or small) to learn the name. Hover your mouse over the blank image, right click and select “Copy image URL”.

Paste the URL into your browser bar and click enter. We learn from the image URL that the 17th set is called Camouflage. Since there is no image for this card, the link will take you to a image not found page.

To see the card image, you need to reconstruct the actual card link. The basic Collectable Stat Card image links are shown below. Each series contains 6 cards (5 regular and 1 reward card).

Now take the link of the card you wish to view and add the name to where the XXX is located. Sometimes the abbreviations are used instead of the collection name but it usually doesn’t take long to find. In this case, the entire name is used. For our example card, we will replace the XXX with the word Camouflage. Paste this into your browser bar and hit enter to see the image.

That was a lot of work to see an image identical to the loot item the card was named after. Sometimes Zynga gets creative and uses other images from within the game. This time around they were lazy and all 30 cards are named after loot items so you could just do an inventory search. The only other information the card image will give is a description.

For a while, Zynga used individual image links for the home page banners. They stopped doing that after Set 13 and now use the same links from previous sets. If you are that curious and can’t wait for their release, you can predict the next most likely banner.

Set Image Set Image Set Image Set Image
1 5 9 13
2 6 10 14
3 7 11 15
4 8 12 16

It’s not an exact pattern but from Set 13 on (when the banners stopped being unique), the colors are aqua, brown, red, blue, green, etc.. If you follow the sequence, you can guess that the next banner will be green and the one after that purple.

Predicting Zynga is never an exact science so there is always the chance a pattern won’t be followed. If I wanted to pretend that I found the banner image, I could always construct a banner using the loot items that were added to the inventory and the banner from Set 6 (the last green one). If anyone is actually still reading this post, I doubt they would care or think much of it.  I would end up looking pretty stupid if Zynga deviated from the expected. A rule of thumb about server images is they never contain buttons so this would be an obvious fake (even if my photoshop skills were impeccable). If I ever post an image that does not come directly from the game or the servers, I will let you know (unless it's a spoof of something).

  1. Thanks. That was easy to follow. (I didn't care about seeing the card image, but I wanted to learn how you do it)
