Who Are Slackers and Campers

Share:

If you are new to Operations then you are probably hearing some new terms and experiencing the frustrations inherent of the My Mafia Operations storage capacity. Players are allowed to hold up to 10 of their own Operations and 10 of their mafias at a time. Because we can’t have more than 5 at a time of our own Operations, this queue doesn’t hit it’s limit (unless you have old Operations lingering). The My Mafia Operations is another story. By now most have encountered what the community has named the Slacker and the Camper. These guys fill up and stall your Operations helping abilities. A Slacker is someone who comes in, does a few jobs and then totally forgets to complete the job. The Camper joins your Operation but doesn’t do anything but sit there. There are a few proactive measures you can take but they all rely on other players. It would be a nice addition to have the option to leave an Operation if you see it’s doomed.

The only person who can kick these less desirables out of a Operation is the initiator. Players who are waiting to get them out of their queue have 3 options. They can contact the initiator, the Slacker/Camper, or they can post a request on the initiators wall. To get the Mafia Wars link of any player, hover your mouse over the image and click on the yellow link. Once on their Mafia Wars Profile Page, use Switch to get to their Facebook Profile and then send your message. This works for the initiator and all helpers.

A request will be generated and you can write whatever you like on it. It will post directly to that players wall. They should have this option for the helper accounts too so all their friends could see they aren’t being good mafia members.

Things get really frustrating when these players don’t respond to inbox messages and/or allow players to post on their walls. When this happens, you are stuck and will have to wait for the Operation to expire. Hard Operations last 3 days and 12 hours and all you can do is wait it out.

  1. I think in the case of these limited time missions, the stamina and energy demands can be so high that for many it may require a level up or two to get a spot done so I think people should be more patient with people helping on these higher demand missions.

  2. Actually on these new Ops, the option to contact people from the Op page is not there on any of my accounts. Would be nice if it was.

    1. I think you might have that option, just that it seems to be rather difficult to get hold of them and if you see them, they might not stay long enough for you to click.. this happens to me, specially when I hover at the outer right edge, by the time I slide over to the left side it's gone. Very frustrating. ~ Monika

  3. I think you mentioned this elsewhere but I'd like to repeat it if it may.

Some who look like slackers may be struggling with the energy or stamina requirements to finish quickly. We're not all blessed with tons of E/S.

I can do TWO clicks per level on the hard missions, so it takes a while to get them finished. Even though the better ratios mean I am levelling faster.

Its a shame there is no easy way to monitor this.

    1. It's a two way street. Players who are having issues should contact the leader. I agree we should allow more time since the requirements are high but I have 4 who haven't even clicked once in 24 hours. People shouldn't join the hard ones if they are unable to finish them in a day.

    2. I wasted more than 3k stamina this morning and left a message on the original post that I would finish after leveling but when I returned 25 minutes later the initiator had already removed me.

    3. I will hook people after an hour has passed. Mostly because the others on the mission depend on the leader to keep it rolling. Two pumpers should not be joining hard missions. I often join 10 missions then complete them all, but that only takes like 15 minutes max. If somebody gives me the hook for that, IDK cause I am after the ratio not the loot.

  5. I'm finally famous, thanks Jen for using my Operation :-)

I bet there's been a lot of discussions within people MW Families over the last day regarding operations and here's a few points to add...

Script Users need to make sure they configure there scripts properly so they are set up not to automatically add you to peoples operations, this will help solve some of the 'Campers'.

Time Zones play a big part here too, there's no point in starting in an operation and not finishing it, if you are about to go offline, this will hold up the operation for a lengthy period..

Stamina / Energy Requirements are quite high when you get to the harder levels, it makes more sense starting on one of the hard operations if you can level up doing it otherwise you will again hold up the operation until you can level up again. If for some reason you can't finish the operation straight away, then inbox the initiator so they are aware. Most good minded people won't mind hold your space open if they know it will get completed soon.

Saying that, I have quite an active Mafia and have 10K Energy and Stamina and have finished this event with not much difficulty. If you work together as a group, you'll soon get this finished.

  6. I just love all the people who are begging like crazy for helpers but do absolutely nothing to help me. What a bunch of whining losers.

  8. some who appear to be slackers are lower level players without the energy or stamina to do it in on shot . I generally leave them on til the op is close to expiring (24 hours) but if i check and they haven't completed close to as many ops as they've started i'll boot them in a second
