When the Family Inheritance Event began the {ASS} Family like most other families was less than enthusiastic about it. I figured we would follow suite and ignore it like so many others decided to do. That was until Donna, our resident cheerleader, came into the picture. Soon our wall was filled with statistics, tips and encouragement and our members couldn’t help but get into it. Within one day of Donna’s takeover we went from 11th place to 4th. At one point we were in 3rd place. We knew that taking over the established 1st and 2nd place families, nWo Wolfpac 4 Life and Mafia Wars Gods wasn’t going to be possible but we hoped to stay in 3rd. Out of now where, 2 families started to climb the leaderboard. ╠Sραßαr╣ and [RUS] Russian Mafia Group gave everyone a run for their money. It was a fun competition and Donna was there every step of the way with hourly updates on ice rates. In the end we came in 5th and were very happy with how we did. I thought I was done posting about this event but Donna sent me a spreadsheet which captures the competition. In the last hours of the event, we tried our hardest to keep 4th place but the Russians were coming and it soon became evident we wouldn’t make it. We tried our hardest, never gave up and that was something fun for our family to work together on. It was frustrating to accept defeat but in the end a very awesome thing happened. Dmitry Matvievski, the Godfather of the[RUS] Russian Mafia Group, left a very nice message on our wall and the spirit of what these events are really about to the players came out.

Joe Costantino, the Godfather of nWo Wolfpac 4 Life, has quite the family. They took 1st place in the last Family Ice Event and are now a staple on Family Leaderboards. What makes this family so amazing is their strenght as well as their stamina. The Arena has afforeded them the opportunity to excel in anything ice releated. This event was no easy feat because ╠Sραßαr╣ took the lead for a while and they also had to fight to the end.
While their reward popup looks a little nicer than the rest, it was the competition that seemed to drive the fun. While these types of events exclude a lot of families for being compet
While these types of events exclude a lot of families for being competitive, Zynga did supply a better leaderboard system and many were able to compete amongst the families that were close. I and many others would love to see some type of competitive event that doesn’t favor the larger families. I don’t think Zynga anticipated Arena scripts and the results of these events would be much different without them. I can only imagine the hours players would put into them if script use wasn’t possible in the Arena.
The fight list was much better with the 'big' families in the arena...back to normal now. The strong just get stronger....no wonder so many give up.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this (almost) completely. Smaller families and newer or otherwise weaker players haven't a chance in the game.
DeleteWhere I differ is in the fight list being better - it's actually worse as with all the stamina being siphoned off to the arena there are many, many fewer live targets on the fight list. Arena "events" such as this just exacerbate the problem.
Zynga wasn't very smart in designing the Arena, putting it into direct conflict with existing features and even counting the fake ices as if they were from real fighting.
These were tough 10 days for us at [RUS]. But we counted that we could do it, because all that counted was time and number of accounts playing as many arenas as possible, skills didn't matter much. A mini account with 2,500 stamina could bring 3 crests in 70% of 20 stamina arenas. So we didn't need many strong accounts to do it. But it was a 24 hour non-stop arena for all 10 days for most of us. So, surprise! We are finished 4th. Now I need a vacation, lol. Elina, GM [RUS]
