Many have noticed that your Mafia Iceboard is now set up so that you are only competing with your family members. This may have been done to prevent removing players ahead of you [1]. Players who are not in families, can no longer participate in Iceboard events. Those in families with less than 5 active members are also not eligible.
Mult is currently #1 on my Family Iceboard.
I removed him from my mafia to see what would happen.
He is still on my Iceboard but if there is a delay he may be gone in a few hours. I would have a better chance to get a Golden Peacock but the problem is I’m in the {ASS} Family. I would need to remove almost everybody! That won’t be an option for many players. The only workaround would be to detag and join a mini family on the last day. The problem with that is the admin of families aren’t going to want to deal with adding people back and they may even get pissed you detaged. We asked for a way to tell if players weren’t contributing to Family Progression but this isn’t what we meant! At least for a week you will be able to tell who is slacking in your family. This is not a good change to the Iceboard and may result in many family conflicts. I guess Zynga doesn’t really care about player retention [1].
Is the one piece of loot really all that trouble? Get real. This event is one of the worst ones they ever came up with. First off, on the global level, it's the same top 5 cheaters who win the prizes anyway. All this event is about is who can cheat the most. I'm surprised Zynga hasn't caught onto all this cheating. People creating mini accounts to pad their phony stats. Come on people, get a life. So, this game is not actually about seeing how well you can plan your strategy, allocate your EARNED skill points, but it's all about how many shortcuts you can devise to cheat someone else, who plays honestly, out of a prize which is basically worthless. I see my stats and I see stats I have EARNED. How many of you can say you honestly earned what you got? No wonder the game is dying.

No I think you should have to work some. On the last one I had about 3,000 ices which is work (script or not, it's still work)and I got the loot as that was what I was working towards. The people on my list consisted of 1 or 2 close to the same number as me some in the middles and some with 0. I had a chance. Now I would need to fire up 10 minis, attack them, have few kami accounts attack me and run my script 24/7. If I really wanted to, I could have chosen to do that but it's not worth it. This set up probably cuts the number of loot items rewarded down by 90%. I've chosen to ignore it and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm not really spoiled as I don't really need the loot item. I can spend 35 reward points to get a better one which is exactly what Zynga wants me to do. This is just another effort by Zynga to make it not as much fun for the free players in the game who I also try to represent in this blog.

ReplyDeleteYes it is nice to see a list of who is doing what. We have a waiting list of people wanting to join our family and now everyone can see who isn't pulling their weight. It's also fun to see those at the top and how many ices they are capable of getting.

ReplyDeleteIt wont effect player retention over something so small. you as a "collector" (obsessive compulsive) are in the minority.
This slight adjustment allows the chase for the loot to be truly personal and fun with your family. If you have no real connection with your family you wont enjoy it and if like me you just don't care you wont even look to find a work around a game feature instead of just trying to beat your buddies and have fun!
It's not the loot, it's the set up. There is often pressure to get ices in many families. Now that everyone can see your performance I feel some will realize they can't keep up and they are letting their family down and either leave to join a different one or just give up. If your family doesn't care about ices then it wouldn't be a big deal. I'm not a collector so I don't really care about the loot. I can go buy some. I try to find work around to some of the problems players have. If true collector's are unable to get a loot item, they stop collecting. If they stop collecting, they may stop playing.

anyone you wish to remove from your mafia,do this
1 go and attack them once..
2.a bar will appear stating that person is in your mafia,
3.click remove and then click attack, refresh takes about 30 minutes
4.in about 8-10 hours that person will automatically be re-added to your mafia. and they will never know. and you will not have to sent them a MWR again.
i do it all the time when i need my alt to hit on me so i can level up. works every time...
now you can do the remove from mafia from the profile page but then you need to send another MWR to get them back in your mafia.

That's the trick I stated in the post doesn't work. This time the members are not cleared from your board because it's no longer based on who is in your mafia. It's who is in your family. We tried removing players to see what happens and nothing does. They stay on the list. Only way to remove them is to leave your family or have the ones ahead of you leave and I don't think anyone wants to do that.
